never felt such a large conscious uncoupling to my football team. Genuinely, just past caring now. Nothing to support or get behind, just ambivalent to the team and club its entirety. Used to be excited going to matchdays, now it's just a draining exercise.

If I were the Lewis's and Vinai I would bring in Ralf Rangnick as DoF and ask him to put a whole restructuring plan in place. Kind of like what Man Utd did but actually listen to him and implement his ideas instead of ignoring him.

I think we need a whole step change at the club. We need to stay in the PL and hope to scrape into Europa a couple of times in the next 3 or 4 years while having an actual top operator come in and build us a proper big club set-up.

A decade ago absolutely. But he left Leipzig/his last DoF role 7 years ago. Everything he innovated has been copied to death and the game has moved on again significantly since then (much for the worst in term of playing styles).

Our big missed opportunity was not getting Michael Edwards back after he left Liverpool in 2022.

Dan Ashworth is also back on the market, as well as Paul Mitchell

He still knows what a good structure looks like. I feel as though Mitchell is somebody that will recommend transfers but not somebody who will restructure the whole footballing operation at a club (which is what we need IMO - years of bad decisions, under investment and trying to make do on the cheap have come back to haunt us).

Mitchell is decent at his job BUT 1005 one of those who wants to be at the business end of deals and thrives on that and likes the thrill of it rather than being someone who knows a structure.
