Daniel Levy - Chairman

Comoli was dof for modric. Comoli couldn't get the deal done. Levy flew out and secured it. There were pictures at the time.
Suspect Comolli could've absolutely got the deal done if he was given full negotiation powers. I found it worrying back then that the chairman had to go out to complete such a low transfer fee move. Suggested to me that our DoF didn't have enough control.

You’ve probably missed some of my other posts around this subject because otherwise you’d know I absolutely agree with you when it comes to our owners. Almost word for word in fact.

What frustrates me about the CFT slogan is that I don’t think it actually attacks ENIC on this point. If they found a sharper way to do that, it would be harder for ENIC to combat. Instead, they play into a stereotype / caricature of Levy that shows they haven’t thought very deeply about it at all.
I would tend to ignore CFT. It seems they have very little support behind them away from the fantasy world of the internet.

At the moment CFT might as well make a retreat , nobody is listening and if Levy can pull off the deal for Eze they might as well retire completely. This mornings queue for tickets reached at least 102K which might be a record, so definitely the majority not interested in CFT.

I think you're misreading the situation, those 102k are wanting tickets so they can attend the protest.
It's obvious really.

And a very inexperienced manager
Blame a many people but no one ever seems to remember that was Poch 6th year in management

True, but he was in his 4th year with us from memory. He had seen so many good players scouted but not converted into signings by the club. I think he was equally frustrated with himself by keep accepting the other recruitment choices and setting a precedent in the prior years. He must have been so gutted with the 2017 summer business after finishing 2nd on 86 points. He knew that he should have been stronger earlier and used his power of veto on transfers more with the recruitment team.

I've also said many times but all these fans that wanted to blame Poch for not signing anyone can't name a single player that (a) was available and (b) would have come to us and (c) we could afford. They make out there was a queue of players that we could have got. It's just not that easy.

What we probably did wrong in that window was not sign U21's. We should have realised our senior targets weren't happening and switched our attention to the next gen.

Poch was partly to blame
The sporting leadership were partly to blame
It’s a collective
Poch was not innocent despite how some want to spin it
And he showed his lack of experience
I did love that time though…. Was a chance to be proud of the team I supported

That summer we could have done a relatively easy deal to sign Grealish (which imo would have reduced our reliance on Eriksen plus be able to give him a rest at times)but we tried to be too clever by lowballing to the nth degree because Villa had a deadline for an EPL payment (we thought they'd be too desperate an accept a fee lower than one that had already been agreed).

Alas, Villa got new owners (or investors) and so didn't need to sell to make that EPL payment and also gave Grealish a new contract.

I'm sure that kurfuffle was the last straw for Poch

Tielemans

Is the only half credible name I've heard and, even with him, he isn't that great a player. He would have admittedly helped in some squad capacity but would have been a step down from the Vic/Dembele and Dele/Eriksen partnerships.

What I would ask though was he even prepared to join Spurs? Was it even a consideration for either party? Did Poch turn him down? Still the very big unknown unless I've missed some key links over the years.

Well he went to Leicester, so I think he probably would have come to a much bigger club yes.

Did Poch confirm that or is that a fan or journo assumption?

Bedford is wrong. Monaco didn't allow an option to buy in the loan which is apparently why Poch didn't want him.

Tielamans did an interview with Sky after he signed permanently for Leicester saying he had lots of offers after his loan spell but decided to stay with Leicester.
