Cristian Romero

Romero will only miss one game -- it was a second yellow.

That's interesting. So you're allowed to kick someone in the chest and it is only be deemed as a second yellow, not violent conduct.

We do live in a crazy world with modern officiating.

I've always been for retrospective action from the FA on these players. Just because you get away with something in the 90 mins shouldn't mean that you ultimately get away with it. When I think back to the nonsense that VVD has got away with against Spurs, I would fully endorse a system where he would have had to miss games based on an FA panel. The reality with that is the FA not having any governance any more as Sky and the PL just stuck the middle finger up at them as they have the money.

I'm all for governance that improves player behaviour.

Did he?

The biggest problem is the passing quality kind of drops off the corner with no Romero and no Xavi.

Danso to be fair isn't a bad passer himself, so I guess we'll see him just taking up that responsibility.

We are going to struggle big-time against Palace. Everything will be lasered in on Porro as the only real passer we have, Kudus will be doubled and pressed. If we are going to sit in and do the horseshoe boogie, I'd like to see Johnson on the left in the rare hope we can quickly get the ball into a zone he can attack/he can arrive on the stick for a Kudus cross...

Yes, watch the replays. He hit out with his heel as they were getting up from being entangled...I'd say Konate played a blinder in winding him up there...

Oh I saw it. I personally do not call that a kick; it barely registers a flick. It was silly for sure and Romero needs to try and not react despite the weight of challenge, however given the gamestate and how many times I see similar situations end up with a player wrapping his hand around someone's neck/shoving them in the chest, etc not end up with anything, I thought it was both soft and a terrible read of the game.
