Cristian Romero

No, they are completely detached/outsourced. Same for every player. He'll pay an agency to do it all. All he'll ever contribute is let their photographer do some shoots every now and then. It's too risky from a PR point of view to let amateurs do their own publicity, even if its the pros who have potentially slipped up this time.
Well looking at the grammar etc of some of the posts it was a bunch of amateurs doing it. And from a PR point of view Romero's wasn't great.

The agencies will try to mimic 'authentic', that will be a key part of their brief.

Romero's agency definitely made a mistake with the timing of that one, but it just demonstrates how detached they are.

Absolutely. That's all performative flimflam.

They would have said their genuine goodbyes and good lucks in person or by whatsapp, the same as everyone else in the world does.

So was part of Biss’s agencies’ PR strategy to go on to his phone, screenshot the conversation with Ange, and then post it? Maybe it wasn’t actually Ange on the other end of that conversation?

I'd hope Romero and Frank first convo will fix things. He's a hot head. And clearly loyal to Ange.

Whether he is pushing for a move is probably difficult to judge but the post feels like a dig at the club

Let's hope we get him on a new contract
The first convo that needs it happen is Romeo’s agent with atletico
Should be a put up or shut up convo

The guy is decent at best and he is constantly coming out with brick like that and having little digs. He is supposed to be a captain but like most Argentinian players loyalty means nothing unless its your country.

Off you trot mate, Danso will do a better job.

They're adults, yes cuti may have had an affection for Ange but you'd hope that he knows football well enough to know these things happen, and who knows maybe him and Frank will forge a better relationship.

Can totally get Romero being unhappy about how a lot of things have gone since he came here. He's by now a serial winner and imo good enough to play at any club in the world.

He's obviously not the type to just keep his mouth shut when things aren't going well. I don't mind that. Shows ambition, makes demands of the club and I guess the manager.

If he's happy to stick around I'm delighted for him to stay and can only hope the club can match his ambitions on the pitch.

Real shame if he leaves. Will be massively missed imo.

Hes already massively missed with the 50% of games (actually slightly more) he hasn't featured in season just gone.

When he is 'on it' he is great like the few Europa League knockout games, but I would rather a solid Danso type who is reliable in many ways over the you never know what you're going to get on the pitch/never know if he's going to be available to be on the pitch Romero.....

Sometimes, the agencies are still 'suggested' to hire someone from an entourage/friend group. It's possible that is the case here.

It is of course performative. That's the point. Tis why you don't see comments on everything. In my world, it very much depends on whose account it is. Some individuals/groups take it very seriously and will not allow a tweet, let alone Instagram, to go out without either their or their rep's approval. Some specifically use it to make certain points (I think Romero/his reps certainly do this). As you say, some don't care (but end up caring very quickly if their trust ends up in a storm).

I have to say, Gullit's either showing his age or showing his age. He either has a great, long and trusting relationship with your mate, or he's in that 'older' group who don't understand how brutal the wrong vowel or consonant on social media can be (BTW I hope you were joking about sliding phrases in, etc)...

He's a clam mate, our clam mind you, but all the same.

He could take that stance if he turned up every game and demanded a performance every game. He had a very mediocre season until final rounds of EL then showed what an elite level defender he can be, similarly he can be an absolute monster for Argentina.

If he wants to hold Spurs to some standard, he needs to do the same with himself, I have no doubt he loves Ange, they all do, because the guy gave them a free ride to lose 22 games.

We will be a weaker side if he moves on, but if he doesn't want to be here, let someone pony up the cash for him, and move on.
