Climate Change

Burnham hasn't said a whole lot about climate change yet, even after a cobra meeting, just some flimflam about disposable bbq's. He needs to wake up and smell the wildfire smoke.

The disposable bbq ban isn't just flimflam though.

It isn't to do with climate change as much as the immediate need to prevent wildfires. They should have been banned, along with sky lanterns years ago as they cause significant damage to rare and vulnerable habitat every year, not just this. They are totally unnecessary and add significantly to the loading for emergency services every summer.

Yeah, it is somewhat important, don't start fires, but it really misses the point. It is so inadequate for the moment.

Its so easy to do too

- No new petrol or diesel vehicles can be bought or imported from 1/1/30
- No new/replacement gas, oil or wood heating can be installed from 1/1/30

Those two interventions are all it needs to get this over the line
