*** CL MD4 OMT Tottenham Hotspur v FC Copenhagen ***

Romero is the difference imo
He pushes us up and plays the forward pass

He does, and I’d play him every week, it’s not to knock him as such, but in a game like this where we’ve seen we can get at them, for me, I just want him to get us going rather than slowing us down. Against these, we can play quicker and get results.

Have to say great play from Simmons there. The one touch give and go, run to receive the ball and great cross.

He has quality, the question is can he do that in the PL.
Performances like tonight will hopefully improve his confidence so he can take these performances into the league.

He’s also got 4 runners beyond the ball here (3 forwards and Udogie) which a dream for a number 10.

Udogie is important as it really adds the 2nd dimension for the opposing defence to think about. Will help Kudus when he’s back.

Udogie is huge
The fact he can go outside is just the minimum needed on that side

I’m watching it here and you see him telling everyone to step up
Yes, but it's not just that. Plenty of games with Romero and Bentancur and Palinha have then just passed between themselves and the defence. Tonight Bents and Sarr are looking to go forward. Totally different attitude.

The best we have played has been when Romero has been there to pass with some risk
Tonight the attitude may be because they know we’re playing an inferior isde
But we are doing the right things

Part of why we're getting at them is because he's slowing down, looking up, finding the non obvious pass in between the lines imo. It's part of what we miss when he isn't there.

Passing quickly side to side or up to a deep midfielder who then passes back again does very little create or exploit space.
