Brennan Johnson

I read his comments on the players not being happy.

For the sake of discussion let's say it's true

I didn't realise we were a social club? If the players are that upset about their friend being sold, strikes me as a weak changing room.
Sad that they've lost some dressing room bantz.

Will be delighted though if he's replaced by someone who can run with the ball and pass it

Not a comment on if it was a right/wrong call but morale/vibes at Spurs is a thing, it's why people still pine over Poch, it's why the two best periods of the club is Harry and Poch, managers the players liked.

You don't not make business decisions because they are unpopular with employees, but you do account for it, plan for it.

I’m not surprised he’s been sold, other than it’s happened in January rather than the summer.
He will forever have a deserved place in Spurs folklore due to Bilbao. “Johnson again ole, ole” is added to the bank of nostalgic songs that get rolled out from time to time (great memories of Ferencvaros away last season where it was on repeat for ages).
He always seems like a very lovely lad and I wish him all the best (apart from when we play Palace in March).
Just checked Palace fixtures and their last game of the season is at home to Woolwich. He could secure absolute super hero status that day (although I hope it’s all dead for the scum by then).

I feel he can thrive with Palace but isn’t what we need. I think a good move for all parties. He’ll be remembered well for his part in our Europa League success and I wish him well for his future.

A lovely guy but honestly I'd say we have cashed in at a time when we can get decent money for him - he's very one dimensional, and despite attempts to improve this he's not really shown that he can evolve his game.

Glasner might be the manager to get that evolution, if so then Palace have spent well. If not then we have got a space in the squad for someone the boss wants to achieve our attacking objectives and Palace have a player who can do one thing well.

Shame it didn't work out, but he clearly didn't match the way Frank wants us to play. He's a great finisher (our best, IMO), but has big limitations in other parts of his game. So this is probably a sensible move for all parts.

I can see him scoring plenty of goals for a team that plays in a way that suits him better - whether that's Palace remains to be seen. Apart from scoring against us, obviously, I wish him all the best.

Yet the three most successful managers in the PL are Ferguson, Mourinho and the child catcher. (Or has Guardiola overtaken?)

Not people who particularly cared about being liked, but insisted on respect and obedience from their players.

Good luck brennan.

If you go back in the thread i wasn't really happy with the signing at the time.

He turned out pretty much as i expected. Decent but not elevating us to the next level.

How many signings in the last decade do you think were capable of elevating us to the next level?
