Brennan Johnson

Quite a good goal tonight from our man , weak opposition but still pretty good.

More PL goals per game than Doku, Neto or Trossard , not a bad player to have in your squad and a trophy winning goal in Bilbao🏆

Credit where credit is due, North Macedonia had only conceded 3 goals in the other 7 qualifying matches, including the 2 games against Belgium. They went to pieces last night but part of that was because of the way Wales went at them.

Absolutely brilliant goal by BJ.

The worst thing any player can do is actually play for us, they're all brilliant until they go and do that. Not sure if we're unique in fan terms for that, perhaps everyone else is the same with their players?

I really like Bellamy and his whole approach

That was more of a Semenyo goal than a Brennan Johnson goal

BJ would never attempt to do that for Spurs
Which begs the question, why not? To answer my own question, because the intensity of the PL means he'd be floored long before he could go on a run like that neer mind get his shot away.

Tottenham's Europa League final match-winner Brennan Johnson is facing an uncertain future at the club amid growing Premier League interest in the attacker.

BBC Sport understands that Tottenham, while not actively looking to sell the Wales international, are open to letting Johnson leave should they receive a suitable offer.

Crystal Palace are currently the club most advanced in their interest for Johnson, but other teams are believed to be monitoring his situation closely.

Johnson was Tottenham's leading Premier League goalscorer last season with 11, and etched his name in Spurs folklore by scoring the winner in their Europa League final triumph over Manchester United in Bilbao, ending the club's 17-year wait for a trophy.

But the departure of Ange Postecoglou and arrival of Thomas Frank as new head coach has meant Johnson has played more of a peripheral role this season.

Johnson, 24, has made only six top-flight starts under Frank this season.

As a result, a number of clubs have been alerted to his potential availability before the January transfer window.

Given his lack of action and the prospect of a World Cup on the horizon with Wales, a move away from Tottenham may suit Johnson next month.

Johnson joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has scored 27 goals for the club.

He has huge limitations.
But he also kicks the ball into the net quite frequently.
Looks like a £60m player in these clips :)

I’m probably in the minority in that I’ll be sad to see him go. I grew up hearing about the heroes of the club who won trophies and scored in finals, the reasons for the glory, glory nights. We have one and within 6 months he’s to be sold and moved on. Makes me a bit sad, I won’t lie

I think it is his own fault.
He doesn't show his full skill set, out on the pitch e.g. if he has skill level X he always performs well below that, like X/2.
Rather than showing us just how good he could be, he avoids situations and just plays a ball back 10 yards.
A bit like Jenas, had a lot of talent but just doesn't dare show it.

Miller and Roberts (our two goalscorers from 1984) were binned out fairly soon afterwards - Gough came in and Mabbutt converted to CB. Paul Stewart (1991 goalscorer) left within a year of that final.

He gave me a moment that I will remember for the rest of my life (and many along the way too).
