Berba, Modric, Rafa, Bale, Kane, Sonny...?

One glaring omission from this post for me is Robbie Keane.

If you ever get a chance to watch his ‘100 club’ on Sky Sports, you won’t see a better range of quality goals.

Would absolutely walk into this current team.

Great player who was underated by some, i was in the bar at a bikers rally in Leeds when the news came on we had signed him, brilliant signing and i let everyone in the bar know. :D

You have a point
Many players from our recent past would walk into the current team. Players I'd have in the starting XI in a heartbeat:

Goalkeepers:
Lloris
Gomes
Friedel
Cudicini

Right backs:
Walker
Trippier
Corluka

Left backs:
Rose
Assou-Ekotto

Centre-backs:
Alderweireld
Vertonghen
King
Dawson
Gallas
Kaboul

Centre-mids:
Dembele
Dier
Wanyama
Modric
Huddlestone
Parker
Palacios
Sandro

Attacking midfielders:
Eriksen
Alli
Van der Vaart
Kranjcar
Dempsey

Wingers/Wide Forwards:
Bale
Son
Lennon
Lamela
Chadli
Townsend

Forwards:
Kane
Llorente
Adebayor
Defoe
Keane
Crouch

If anyone carrick. Class player that a lot of fans couldn't understand what he did.
Yeah had many heated debates with Spurs fans who did not rate Carrick at all. "What does he do?" Was always the question. And when i tried to explain how he basically set the entire tempo of a match they'd just laugh and say I was talking gonads: "he can't tackle, he can't run, he can't shoot, he just passes sideways". A lot of fans only started rating him when Man Utd bought him.

Some top class players there, but also some way over rating of players that wouldn't get into the first 11 we have now.

This list is more about players who get you off your seat
carrick did that dribble in fight of wenger and had Arsenal crying (shame it never went in)
But apart form them it was less about him exciting fans and more about him being the platform for players to play off

Have you ever seen aura and then it turned out it wasn't there?

Anyone in the squad now you see that in?

If "it"/aura can be scouted for and signed just sign those players repeatedly?

For me there have been some that just had it from the start, but from the start being several competitive games for us. And I think there are many factors in that beyond just the aura of the player.

In all honesty, I assumed that was a given mate. Let's just say I hope so.
Next thing, it will be 'steff in lemon bowl guides all' transfer judgement shocker!'

Bingo!!!!!! Thank you!

Ok. For the current crop i think at least 2 of odobert, gray, begvall, moore, donley and tel will be class. Baring fitness and mentality. If udogie can stay fit him too.
Gray most likely.

I really like paz also. Just from glimpses.

Of that list, Bergvall has the talent and aura for me. Odobert could well have the talent, we shall see. Same with Moore (too early to tell really). Gray is (as I said before IMO) the closest I've seen to Perrymanesque.

Bergvall got us off our seats a few times last year
Moore did it vs az
Moments where you talk about about what they did on the train home and a bloke you have never met before joins in with his son saying the same thing

To me the way Bergvall carries himself he feels he is a difference-maker...I really hope that if we don't sign a 10, we play him there and persevere.

Absolutely. Not only does he have the ability, he has the bravery and self-belief to be 'the man'...
Especially if he has the insurance of Bentancur and/or Sarr and paulinha behind him.
Let him take on the mantle, be "brave" and grow into it.
He will make mistakes, but as long as he learns from it he can only grow.

I'd say Odobert and Tel *might* be super good in the future. They are still very young.

The French teams are stacked with talent (as we will unfortunately see vs PSG) so for them to get chances, they will have to be right up there.
