AUDERE EST FACERE - NOW MORE THAN EVER

thfcsteff

Tony Galvin
If ever there was a time to believe, to see the light, to see the positivity, to see the unity, to understand how 'together' this group is, to believe, to check assumptions, to check fears, and to see this as the start of another Tottenham Hotspur that both entertains AND knows how to get the job done, then this is it.
The question is, can we -as supporters- change OUR ways? Can people get beyond their pre-baked fears? Can people understand that this is a new era? Can we no longer embrace fear?

Discuss.

It sure feels different today, Steff.

There are big decisions to be made in the coming weeks, but last night (scrappy, ugly win that it was - which, for me, just made it better) has made me feel that something has shifted when it comes to our belief as a fanbase. We’ve seen we can get it over the line in a massive game. I think - I hope - that changes everything.

It's a moment, and like any big moments, first enjoy it, second, can you build on it

- The club has close moments, some of it quite honestly feels like the football gods conspire against us, from getting 4th under Harry and no CL, to hitting our peak under Poch and having to move to Wembley, to opening the stadium and getting hit with covid ..
- The club has built inch by inch over such a long period that the trust (to your questions) is difficult, this shows that everything the club has built can result in on field success, it shows fans there is a reward at the end possible.

The big part for me is that for the vast majority of this team -> Vic, Udogie, VDV, Dragusin, Porro, Spence, Sarr, Gray, Bergvall, Wilson, Johnson, Moore, all of those players are not even at their prime, they got the taste before they are at their best (our previous best team was more at their prime vs. this one).

The next steps matter, but such a big step made, the monkey is off the back, we are back in CL with all our stadium/facilities aligned, large part of the squad refresh already done, new money should be to very specific improvements in squad with intention of immediate upgrades.

Spurs fans to me have been a little too thin skinned in recent years, now is the chance to say "European Champions!" suck it, lets back our team and club, take pride not belittle ..

The same moany clams will continue to moan
It never was about Spurs

People with disappointing lives and faded dreams using sport as a place to vent

Now the players will be hungry for more. They will be able to dig deep in matches knowing what the rewards can be. We needed winning experience and winning mentality as Ange has said before and we have the first blocks in place with that win.
We now need to push on. We need to show that we are not once every twenty years trophy winning club. We need to find a way to reach that level that we are consistently challenging and winning honours and take it to the biggest honours.
I already see next season’s European Super Cup as a big test. That’s our next big chance to win a trophy. However meaningful it is decided to be.
We need new contracts for key players to be announced. Break the wage bracket. Show the players and world that we mean business by getting our key players signed down to longer contracts including likes of Romero and Bentancur plus Kulusevski etc.
Make a decision on Ange’s future. I think there is an argument for both him to stay, or to go. I am more behind him than before last night. But there are questions relating to our league form. Questions that must be answered. We need to be competitive on all fronts. Plus winning trophies.
Then whatever decisions are made we as a supporter group need to be pulling together in the best way we can. To be cheering on the team in matches and to give our all. We have had the players achieve those levels now we need to regularly achieve that as a supporter group.

The future is bright, the future is lily white. Let’s go and make last nights waves into a tsunami!!

Ange said this had been his hardest task, I think his hardest is yet to come, winning over the section of disgruntled fans.
The board need to establish the mindset and togetherness of the players. If as it seems they are bought into ange and are beginning to understand what it takes to win then he deserves a chance to take it forward.

Being completely useless for 21 months is not something you ever recover from.

Liz Truss is the only comparable level of charlatanism ive ever seen, and she only got away with it for 49 days

Last night - and the lead up to it - was probably the first time I’ve known pretty much all Spurs fans I have spoken with to have belief that we could win. Yes it was a poor Utd team and if we were playing Lazio or Bilbao expectations might have been different , but we believed we could do it, that’s the point. It is difficult to see that being carried forward to next season BUT maybe we need to remind ourselves that we had that belief and it was justified. We need more faith in ourselves and I hope last night is the start of that.
(A bottle of celebratory cava may not have been my best action so apologies for the burbling).

Can’t you just give in and quit for a while
You need to enjoy the moments in football as they are way to brief
Moany clams after a huge win should really stick to twitter
Last night was great. But that was inspite of him. This is about the future. Its a massive sliding doors moment. Do we get a professional in and return to the top 4. Or do we Ten Hag it again.

Could not agree more, sad thing with todays game it has brought a new generation of supporters who do nothing but bitch and moan at the first sign of trouble. We as supporters generally decide to support a certain team but throw our toys out of the pram at every down term and then decide to bitch and moan about OUR team. We are supposed to be supporters for fudges sake.

It could be a ten hag, it could also be a burkinshaw.
We the fans don't know what is happening inside the club.
If the board have agreed to ange throwing league position to concentrate on the EL I'm sure there must have been not just conditions attached but also a clear strategy for going forward.
Levy is not a gambler, he will not have sanctioned that without very good reliable data.
Whatever happens in the summer, whether it is forward with ange or move onto the next stage it's crucial that we the fans trust it, back it and support the team.
Hopefully this win has fired up the players and they want more.
Ultimately that's should be what we all want.

Oh do fudge off
Maybe actually go to a game and live and breath it
You’re basically the Tottenham equivalent of Nigel Farage right now
To be fair to GB, it was supposed to be a discussion. If you don't want to hear/read different opinions, maybe that should have been made clear. There's a lot to say about yesterday's game but now's not the time to go into the finer details, in my opinion. However, you can't bait people with 'discuss' and then tell to fudge off when they stand their ground.
