There will be a price, there's always a price.

Whether or not the US will pay that price remains to be seen, but it's naïve to think that anyone could hold out forever as the price keeps increasing.

And they don't have to buy everyone out, just a working majority of whatever voting system they're using.

I dont see the selling out and TBH I dont see Trump continuing a line of "we will pay them" i suspect he will attempt by force

Why would a Labour government give away N Ireland when it was a Labour government under Tony Blair that negotiated the Good Friday agreement with the Irish government,
Think you will find somewhere in the agreement to which both governments have agreed is that the future of N Ireland will be left to the people who live there , if a referendum is called and the majority vote for reunification with Ireland then both governments will abide by the vote as it is an agreement under international law, something which Trump has no respect for .

Residents of N Ireland do have some advantage of the rest of the UK as they are able to choose which citizenship they want, choose dual citizenship and they have the advantage of being an EU citizen which many of us have lost.

In Northern Ireland, British Citizenship Law operates alongside unique provisions due to the region’s historical ties with Ireland and the Belfast Agreement of 1998. The agreement recognizes the right of people in Northern Ireland to identify as British, Irish, or both, impacting how British Citizenship Law is applied. This dual identity framework makes Northern Ireland a unique case within British Citizenship Law, as residents may hold British citizenship, Irish citizenship, or both without conflict.
