Well Supreme President Al Khameni. You’ve been building for 35 years for this moment.

Ready to give the great Satan and his allies a beating. Or are you just the worlds biggest gobbrick?

Time to shine.

Really don’t understand this post? Are you really revelling in the fact that we might be on the brink of a world wide conflict?

I don’t support Israel’s actions at all or now Americas, but I don’t support Iran giving us a beating… I must have misinterpreted what you are saying there.

Gallows humour, I would say.

There are a lot of Americans mostly Trump supporters that would disagree with that assessment. They are wrong but they would disagree
There is a schism in the MAGA world over this Iran strike. The promises not to be a war president - "Donald The Dove" - were ridiculous at the time and look even more stupid now. However, MAGA will all eventually row in behind Trump in the end and do whatever mental gymnastics they need to salve their dissonance. As Greg Sargent points out in The New Republic, "America First" is whatever Trump wants it to be. It is infinitely malleable.

And also those normally against him, many of whom are for disabling the Iran nuclear weapons program.

Trump hatred aside ??
Is it not a good thing to stop the biggest state sponsor of terrorism on this planet from being able to potentially launch a nuclear missile ??

If there is a plan and prof, and if Israel is also held to account for its wrong doings within the claims of "defence"........absolutely

Where is congress in all of this? They're the biggest culprits, letting taco man do whatever suits his current mental state.

Except there's no evicence that they are making the materials for a nuclear weapon. Israel have been claiming that they are only a few weeks from having one for the last 30 years or so. It looks like Iraq all over again.
Depending on how Iran react it could really fudge things up for everyone. If they close off the Persian gulf it'll stop 20% of the worlds oil supply. Houthis could start hitting shipping going through the Red Sea again impacting world trade.

It would've been better to have a diplomatic outcome and get a deal in place. One like Obama had made with Iran and was in place until Trump pulled the US out of in his first term. The only reason to pull out was because he didn't make the deal. So now we have a crisis all of his and Israels making.

They have been potentially launching a nuke for neigh on thirty years by all accounts, yet here we are today still with clear skies.

However, I agree that having a nuclear-armed Iran would be a very dangerous thing but we're walking round in circles in how to go about the "stopping" part and have been for decades (ever since the Islamic Revolution) with diplomacy, external pressures, war - or combinations of the latter all seemingly failing.

The nuclear deal at the time was pretty good at rolling back their program imo, everyone got something out of it - but then the US pulled out in what 2018/19 (?) and applied sanctions again so Iran resumed, and likely accelerated, their program.

And while access is very restricted, there still hasn't been any definitive proof found of a weapons program (think the IAEA have still made this statement in recent days.) Do we believe Iran, very very difficult to say and tbh I'd err towards the no side - but again, no proof at all, their supported groups haven't used any such enriched device. If they are/were so close to a bomb, then the attacks will delay it by maybe 1-5 years depending on their success vs a hardened structure.

So now we're again pushing (thanks to carte blanche Israel, can't be touched despite anything) towards a potential wider war or regime change - and foreign backed regime changes have always worked well in the past, haven't they...

The way I see it is that there is no evidence Iran is building a nuclear weapon....yet. However there is plenty of evidence they are stockpiling enriched uranium. They have not given any convincing reason why they need material at this grade. There is no commercial reason and if you were under previous suspicion of building a bomb and wanted to reassure the international community why would you do this?
