A tribute to a great supporter

For some years I have been attending Spurs with my close friends, John and Paddy. Paddy being John's son. We not only met up every time we attended home games, we travelled to many away stadiums, including several trips abroad. In the early part of 2023 Paddy started to get headaches and visited the doctor. After being referred to neurologist Paddy was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He had various treatments until the tumour was successfully removed. For over a year he appeared to be getting better, and was eventually back to his happy go lucky self. In 2024 Paddy got married to Vicky.

I attended the Brentford game with them both in September last year, which unusually we won. Paddy was complaining of headaches again and was struggling to keep up. A few weeks later he was diagnosed with another brain tumour, this time it was on the brainstem and was inoperable. His condition declined rapidly, although John managed to get him out to Bilbao, plus Graham Roberts and Ausie Ardiles visited him at home. Yesterday (23/06/25) Paddy sadly passed away aged 29. He has left behind a loving wife, fantastic parents, grandparents who worshipped him, and an enormous amount of friends. I am fully aware that when any person dies only positive comments are ever made, but Paddy was one of those few people everyone liked and nobody ever had a bad word to say about. I'll miss you mate, and the world is a poorer place without you

Sad news, so young.
 
So glad you made Bilbao Paddy, and know you'll still be there watching on in the coming seasons. RIP mate and love to your family & VOS💙
 
My condolences.

I lost a friend to brain cancer about 2 years ago, and he was also young at 36.
fudge cancer! I hate it with passion! Just think if the world put all military spending into actual useful research! We'd solve a lot in months!
 
Condolences and thanks for sharing those wonderful words about him. Never knew him of course, but with us all bring Spurs still feels connected in a way with all the experiences and feelings we've had in common over the years. Sad and heartwarming to read and think about.
