Can I just state for the record, and for the benefit of @tommysvr, that I hold Thomas Frank accountable for several injuries this season.
For a few games he was rotating, but then he froze out Tel and played several players until they popped e.g. Kudus and Richie and Porro.
For me, any manager must balance the needs of "the next 30 minutes" versus "the needs of the next 3 months out with a serious injury".
Always, always we should bring a player off and ensure they are here for the next 3 months, rather than forcing them into an injury for the sake of a (knackered) 30 minutes.
E.g. if you rate Odobert higher than Tel but Odo has played a lot recently that is fine, play Odo for 60 and Tel for 30. Don't "only play Odo til his ACL explodes and he is out for the season" as that really, really, really, really, really doesn't help us.
Sure, a manager might contribute to injuries. Ange quite clearly did too — even if he got the ok from the medical team and the players themselves to play Romero and VDV vs Chelsea last season, they both got injured again in that match. He played a part.
That wasn’t the problem in the rhetoric last season. Like all criticism of Ange, it went above and beyond.
