I thought both of them had bids accepted. Ive said many times I don’t rate him. That said, I’m quite surprised we’ve not included him in the squad, unless of course he’s said things that can’t be taken back and he’s made it impossible to be selected. If that’s the case then I’d back the manager.

Questioning the sale of certain players is fair. I’m not 100% behind every move we’ve made myself; I just appreciate the protectiveness, especially as we’ve been tardy in previous years and windows. Some of the transfer fees for incoming players have been high, but it’s not really a buyer’s...

I guess you’ve missed some of the nervousness around our spending this summer. It must seem strange to certain posters that we got business done early and didn’t drag it out until 20 minutes before the deadline just so we could “win the deal”. Whether the signings turn out to be successful is...

    Richarlison

Reminds me a bit of the post Poch era when we needed to shift the likes of Dier, Sanchez and Lamela. I’m not up to date with current events, but didn’t we accept bids from a Brazilian club and Everton and on both occasions Richarlison couldn’t agree personal terms?

One of the unfortunate hangovers from his era is that many posters/fans are now afraid or reluctant to spend money, even when we come perilously close to relegation and it’s clear the squad needs major surgery.

I think deep down he wants us to win then he just uses our poor record in the cups this century to pretend he doesn’t care.

Pretty pointless statement considering he can’t stay fit.

I pay for Sky, which includes Netflix and HBO Max, so I refuse to pay for TNT on top of that. You have to draw the line somewhere. I absolutely hate the fact that sports are slowly migrating to streaming. It costs more, you have to hunt around to find the game, it often works worse, and the...

@revlis Yes, you’ve just taken two words from two completely different posts and tried to connect them to prove a point, as if they’re somehow related. You’re the one who brought up my views on Richarlison in the Tel thread, which I’m still not sure why you did.

Two posters (one in this thread) brought up my views on Richarlison when discussing Tel. You know you’re losing the argument when you resort to ad hominem attacks. Not you, the other posters.

It’s not silly. People overestimate how good our players are, and some posters simply don’t like opinions that are realistic. Our forwards were one of the main reasons we finished 17th last season. We can blame Ange, Frank, the injuries, or say the Europa League win affected our league form...

Words can’t express how much I like this post. Some posters have adopted Levy’s cautiousness and lack of appetite for risk and therefore think it’s strange when we do our business early, spend big, acquire the targets the manager actually wants and don’t try to “win deals” as you said.

    Richarlison

I don’t understand why we would ask him to extend his contract unless it was to get more money for him when it comes time to sell. That’s the only logical reason.
  15. Jurgen the German

    Mathys Tel

Yes and you will keep seeing opinions like this until we replace them with better players, that’s kind of what happens when you finish 17th two seasons in a row as much as some posters want to pretend that didn’t happen and act like we’re pushing for the top 4. I know you only like seeing...

His contract is up next summer, what is the likelihood we pay up the rest of his contract and release him?

Bale always had raw pace, elite acceleration and his crossing was a threat even if he was inconsistent. I genuinely don’t see anything in Tel that he excels at. He doesn’t score much or create, his end product is inconsistent, his crossing isn’t particularly great. I don’t see anything to...

Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Never did like Clarkson. No problem with people who have strong opinions, but he’s provocative for the sake of being provocative. Also used to find the timing of his outlandish statements eerily coincidental with whenever he had a new book or a series of Top Gear coming out.

Bale’s talent was more obvious than Tel.

Yes I said that Kane surprised everyone with how good he turned out. Bale was highly rated as a youngster. Again no one foresaw how good he actually became, but you could see he had talent.
