    It was brick football previously under Ange with those players too so of course that wouldn't change. New managers first season with a much better attack meaning we get a few more goals & points means we probably aren't where we are now though.

    The argument isn't that Son would have made a difference this season it's that his role as a starting LWF of a high calibre hasn't been replaced. That'd be true whether he stayed and continued to slide in his level of quality or otherwise.

    We're seeing right now that performance isn't tied to growth off the field unless the right decisions are made along the way, ergo the periods in which we were consistently around the top 4/6 were a result of good footballing decisions made at the time.

    If we need a result in the Frankfurt game I'd rather be relying on Solanke for a goal than Tel - if it was a call that had to be made now rather than delayed till then that's enough to swing it for me. Just one of those calls that people will jump on to add to the negativity
