Danny Rose

He's gone, I think. Poch was asked about him in his post-match presser, and he had a *long*, very obvious think about what to say before going with the 'injury recovery' justification. I don't think that was truthful. I don't know for sure, but I think he's gone.

Extort 75m from someone in January (I'm serious - January premium, and presumably ickle Danny will want to stay in England, so domestic premium on top of that) and send him packing. But *get* someone similarly pacy and dangerous offensively, because we badly need that type of player in our system and losing both Walker and Rose would be a *death blow* to the idea of having mobile wing-backs.

:D

We won't get anywhere near that figure, I'd be surprised if it was half - he has been out for a year and supposedly forcing his way out

The bar has been set and don’t forget he will be playing at the World Cup

If we don’t get a fee that we want we simply don’t sell

Yeah, makes no sense and Poch’s explanation was far from convincing.

He’s caused a problem methinks and that’s only going to end one way.
Considering the dynamics between Rose, the other players and Poch during and after the games he’s played since his return I think you might be fishing for something that’s not there....

Doesn't matter. Make the fee punitive, and then expect Levy to get it. I thought that was his specialty - so shouldn't be a problem if someone really wants him that badly.

Poch was asked if there was a problem with Rose. He then did the "Poch Perplexed" look and asked the interviewer what he meant by a "problem". Then laughed it off and mentioned the lack of fitness due to injury. Which doesn't quite add up given Rose's involvement in previous match day squads, although I suppose there could be something in it as he has looked rusty. Rose seemed fine and happy in the training pics/video but, If as suggested, he was dropped for throwing his toys out of the pram at not being selected to start, that does not bode well.
I wouldn't be too happy at selling him in January. It's a risky time to get a new player in who might need bringing up to speed. But Rose needs to toe the line and if Poch says he is not fit, then he needs to work to get fit.

I don't really care, to be honest. After yesterday, I was f*cked off with the players who seemed like they didn't care, so if Rose wants to leave, be my guest. Although I think @scaramanga's idea of sitting him until August and flogging him also has merit.

KWP is not too far away from being that player and he can play both sides of the goal. Certainly did well in our opening game of the season against Saudi Sportswashing Machine as well as in the Karaoke cup. Was on the bench today too. Probably needs a bit more game time but I reckon he's already good enough to save us a few quid on another defender that we'd need to bed in.

I'd prefer KWP on the right. I absolutely think we're going to have to introduce him into the side somewhere, but not at left-back - he's not comfortable with his left foot (never goes down the outside), and it shows.

Ah come on. He was in all the squads since coming back. Poch put him in for 20 mins away to Madrid when he hadn’t played for 9 months. He played pretty much the full game against Palace. He suddenly disappears from the squad for the NLD? Not even on the bench. Even though he offered an option if one of the CBs gets injured (Davies to CB and Rose to LB).

And Pochs explanation is match fitness. Doesn’t stack up. There’s a problem.

He’s gone. Put the mortgage on it.

Or he's injured again. After all, under this current management regime there is not a lot of transparency around injuries.

He was at LWB that game and I'm pretty sure he got down on the outside a few times. Well I suppose it was 'only' Barnsley but they came mostly to defend so he had to get down the flank and in behind. Did well overall, put a few crosses over - including one or two that were overhit mind.

No - I'm basing my views on his performances in the U20 World Cup. He seemed extremely reluctant to go down the outside then, and usually tucked in when on the ball (or cut back onto his right), which is why it seemed to me like he was an RB that could be used at LB (like, say, Aurier) over a genuine two-sided player.

I'm happy to hear that he used his left against Barnsley, though - if that's the case, I might need to have a rethink on whether he can do it at LB.

Sun stirring sh*t again. No quotes this time. I've attached a screenshot so you don't have to give them clicks, if you don't want to.

Lots of quotes in that article eh? ... fudging rubbish.

He's not looked fully fit in any of the appearances he's made this year.

Danny needs to keep shedding KG's and stay focused on rediscovering his best form.

If I was Levy I would agree something asap involving a cash and player swap. Ideally Martial but doubt that would be allowed seeing as Moaniho has figured out a way of fitting both him and Rashford in the same side.

If it's Shaw then fine get it done but also keep tabs on Sessegnon for the coming summer. Then I would give Rose the rest of the year 'off' and let the fat qunt balloon so when he arrives at Old Trafford they have difficulty squeezing him into their team bus.
