Dele Alli

For me the worst thing about it is the terrible Americanisation going on. At least do a proper English gesture

I am worried about him. The greatest footballer this country had produced since Gazza. But the whole agent switching thing during the season is awful, awful advice and whoever gave it to him clearly does not give a fudge about his career. You want to do that, do it in the summer! I fear that his lack of family stability/wise counsel could see him really unable to focus. Very concerned and it gives Poch a major headache...

This has been rumbling on for a while Steff. I posted this early last month

From this week's Popbitch

>> Bands of brothers <<
How to sign a star, pt.2

We've spoken before about how some of the big football management agencies have a tactic of finding well-paying jobs for their clients' dads in order to get them signed onto their books.

Now it looks like they're widening the net.

Doyen Global recently approached Harry Hickford, the childhood friend, current housemate, and sort-of adoptive brother of Dele Alli.

The move has all the hallmarks of a poaching attempt. We just wonder if Dele's current agent knows that Dele's considered fair game in the business...

I think it's a very important moment in his carrier, how he copes with these next six or so months could make or break his footballing future! I'm not be melodramatic.

As others said in the match-thread, it's not unusual for Dele to have a sh1t game then do something amazing that changes everything. That's why Poch leaves him on. If you accept that Dele will play bad a lot of the time and then impact the game with moments of magic, it becomes a lot less frustrating to watch him.

Young player, he is going to have dips in form.

If he is as great as is being claimed he will get through it.

He will doubtless get through it. Where he gets through it might be a more appropriate question. Those getting closer to him now have whispers like klaxons...he will have whiplash by January once those bastards are done with him.

he has a contract until 2022, if his head is turned and his new people force a move we will get well over 200 mill for him whenever we decide to sell. There is nothing to worry about from the club's point of view.

from his point of view, he is now one of the best players in the PL but is on a long term contract worth 50k a week. Maybe he feels he wants representatives who will negotiate a far better deal on his behalf.

Why not take one of our 6 defensive players off instead of a regular goalscorer and leave them both on?
That was my thinking too I'd rather put Eriksen or Dele in a slightly deeper defensive role then bring on an additional attacker when teams are playing like that against us. Fergie often would finish the game with 3 or 4 strikers on the pitch when chasing a goal.
