Danny Rose

True, but it would fit us so well. Shaw must think Mourinho is a qunt for one thing, he has played his best football under Poch, 22 and his stock is low because of injuries and loss of form. Also, I don't think Shaw would want to stay and be the backup to Rose, but who knows with footballers nowadays.

Swaps are rare, but they rarely fit this well. Swap plus a bundle of cash would be us making the best of a sh1tty situation imo.

all fair points

Next? Dele, Eriksen, Kane

If we don't win the big titles (whilst increasing revenue and our wage ceiling) then yes, it's inevitable. So hopefully, we can win something with this excellent team we have, before we have to re-build it. I think we can.

Let's not overreact.

"I'm not paid what I'm worth" - no brainer
"Spurs must buy stars" - Yep, pretty much what we've all been saying
"I'd discuss bid with boss" - Of course, I'd expect nothing less from an ambitious young man
"I will play in the north" - I'm sure he misses it and would like to be closer to his family again one day

Personally I do not blame him. Walker is his friend and they share the same agent. Now Walker pays more in tax than Rose earns.

It is ironic however that it comes from Rose, a player who has been out injured for the last 7 months.

An excellent starting 11 but not an excellent squad. We probably will not win the league and at the same time lack the depth to take the League Cup seriously while at the same time competing in the CL and the league

Agreed.

We should sign Brerton, Sessegnon, De ligt and Dolberg and loan them back to their clubs for another season. Then if we do lose some of our players next summer we have the next generation of talent already signed up as well as our up and coming players from the youth teams.

The hope is we finish 8th and then play just once a week next season and if we keep all our players we will win the league in our first season in the new ground.

it's unfortunate for us, only one conclusion, we can't afford to double his salary as we'd have 20 other players queued up behind him

good luck to him, he's been great

I haven't read what Danny is actually supposed to have said, but if we let him and Walker go in the same window, both to Premier League rivals, then that is a huge error. We reinforce the perception of the media (and other fans) that we are a selling club, and send a message out to the rest of our squad that we are not serious about maintaining the position we have worked hard to create for ourselves - so others will think 'Why an I sticking around here?'

I can't believe we'd sanction this move at any level, Luke Shaw or not.

I don't want us buying stars. Much more enjoyable getting value for your money.

Reads to me like he

Danny Rose says he will not forget the reaction of Spurs supporters after signing his new deal
might be off, says he will play up north again and I get he wants to be near his family. But unless he goes up there at 34 or something for the last few years he will go sooner rather then later.

27 and injuries mean in a poch physical side he may only have two seasons left at his best with us. I love the guy think he is the best left back in the league, but as for club loyalty he clearly has not forgotten the abuse he got a few years ago and I can not say I blame him. I wonder if Janssen will be the same in a few years.

Tottenham has to be bigger then anyone individual and we have to always move forward, maybe the odd season we have a fall back season but over a few year period we have to always get better. I think the thing is to win something and we have a better chance to keep our squad together.

On another note if we have to look to someone to take over his mantle in the future then as well as Sessegnon the is a lad at Brentford called Henry who looks like a young rose in he gets up and down the pitch and has a nasty streak.

“I am happy at Tottenham, I love my team-mates and the fans have been great for the last three years. But I got a lot of stick before Mauricio came to the club. I’ll never forget some of the things they were saying about me."

Well, that's not wrong.

And having now read it, I'm even more firmly of the opinion that he should be told to knuckle down and get on with it. It's World Cup year and he's under contract - suck it up, mate, and play football.

Which is exactly why we should support the players and the whole team during the games.

None of this "I pay my money I can say wot I want" gonad*s. Support the team, show a fellow naffing human some basic respect and a have a moan in the pub if we really must.

Let's not turn this into being the fault of the fans. It's an extremely well paid young man throwing his toys out of the pram.

Barcelona have allegedly bid £90 million for Coutinho and not a peep in the press from him or his agent. And yet we get this from Rose? He's been ill-advised - and that's the kindest view I can muster.
