The Lane, The Finale

We couldn't have asked for much more, really. Unbeaten at WHL for the entire last season. Ended with GHod knows how many straight home wins (8, 9, 10?) in all competitions. Claimed our best league position in 56 years in the final game, after a solid, deserved win against the best team in the country the past 25 years - of course with one final, spurrsy twist of us allowing an easy goal to make the win harder for ourselves. And the final goal scored by a Spurs player at WHL of course came from one of our own; a youth prospect and a lifelong Spurs supporter - and a legend in the making.

Of course it would've been better if Rooney hadn't scored, but as soon as I saw the Sky stat of him being the joint away team top scorer at the Lane, I had a feling he'd get one tonight. And we would've all loved to win the title in the final season, but it wasn't to be.

Flags and singing at the end, storming of the pitch, that rainbow...goosebump time. It was a fitting finale, I think.

RIP Old lady <3

Ignoring the little fella, these are the two most important people to our near-term success. Levy has built the foundations and the stadium is now 'just' about execution, however its clear that the players love playing for Poch whilst Kane is Spurs through and through and having a Spurs-leader at the centre of the squad is fundamental to retaining players

Don't rule him out. Poch can start on him soon.

We'll that was a bit emotional wasn't it? A fantastic send off. Does anyone know why the likes of Jurgen, Lineker and Gazza weren't there?

Here is Ben / Chich / JapaneseGardenLover / whatever he's called nowadays. Right before he opened the custard

Gazza is recovering from his latest addiction setback, presumably Lineker has some TV commitment. I was disappointed that Jurgen wasnt there though

Jurgen said at Woolwich match he couldn't make it and I think it was wise of Gazza to give it a miss, too much temptation to bend the elbow, don't know why Lineker wasn't there, my son thought Daws might have made a show.

Maybe because his first loyalty is to Leicester City?

Who knows, but it would not surprise me given the way he celebrated their League win last season.

Would you believe there was a bloke guarding the penalty spot at the Park Lane end in amongst all that, stopping people from picking up bits of the chalk? Hilarious.

A highlight, being down there. I couldn't help shedding a few tears.

pool are the only team to give us a game at the Lane and even then their goal came after Firmino kicked his owner legs after contact form lamella

The leiceter result was gutting as they did nothing all game

Daws could have made it up from Palace in time, though I guess might not have been in the mood given they got relegated!

that's what I meant, I assume he had duties as a senior player there

he's probably the captain too...

Perryman Our record Appearance holder not being there that suprised me the most, wherever he is, they should have got him over. And also having some not so much legenss being there like Davies and Carr.

Players I was suprised not to see:

Perryman
Parks
Lineker
Freund ( where was he? )
Woodgate ( for the League cup winner )
