10 goals in Scottish domestic cup competitions isn't really going to change my opinion of him - the point wasn't so much that Sinclair is out scoring him in the league it was more that his goal rate for Celtic doesn't prove anything - he is no more proven than this time last season because he hasn't taken a step up, if anything he has taken a step down and yet we're supposed to pay 5,6 times the price? (as we agreed with Fulham last year) doesn't stack up

Well seeing has Dembele has 5 goals in 12 Euro games and Sinclair has 0 in 7 would suggest that Dembélé is a better player. As i said earlier i do not expect him to sign but this guy will go right to the top. ( imo).

Can we take a 30M punt on a player only proven at Championship/Scottish level?
 
Sinclair is having a good season and is a pl quality player. A few Pl teams should consider signing him. They could do worse. What Sinclair has achieved though should in no way dimish the obvious potential Dembele has. Dembele has all the attributes to be a top striker but is still a little raw. But don't forget he is a kid and will only improve.
Wanyama and Van Dijk also recently enough came from this league so playing there does not automatically grade your quality as a player. The SPL can be a good proving ground for a PL introduction.

I get what you are saying about the price and as i said i do not think we will sign him, however i think a serious debate about how much players are worth is pointless in todays game as transfer fees are beyond sense. And that applys to most transfers that happen.
 
Vincent Janssen would have scored eleventy twelve goals if he was playing Partick Thistle and Forfar
 
Watching Tielemans now in Anderlecht's game at Old Trafford. GB I cannot understand how you don't rate him? He is a good player even if you ignore the fact that he is only 19 years old.

For once, I sort of agree with a transfer-related opinion of yours. ;) It's not that Tielemans and Winks are exactly equal in their development and potential, as much as it is that Winks simply fills the same role that Tielemans does, is home-grown (and a Spurs lads to boot), is enormously talented himself and is already immersed in the league and English football more broadly.

Maybe Tielemans is a little bit further along in his development and potential than Winks is - doesn't really make the trade-off worthwhile for me, though. We have Winks. Tielemans would be a waste. If we need a CM, I'd prefer one that more directly mimics Dembele's playing style and physical attributes.

I think one thing the Celtic move shows is that he can perform in a different environment, and one that would turn quite hostile if it didn't work out.
 
Apparently this is Liverpool's list of targets for this summer: Van Dijk, Ox, Koulibaly, Keita, Brandt and Sessegnon

Milner to remain first choice LB with Ryan Sessegnon as his backup. A few other recognisable names there.

They'll easily throw enough money at Van Dijk and Chamberlain. Hopefully Sessegnon is smarter than that.

There was a similar leak towards the end of last season with a list containing (if I have read the internet correctly) Karius, Zielinski, Goetze, Chilwell, Grujic and Matip.

Rumours say city, untd and/or Chelsea are also looking van diijk and they'll throw more money than pool
