So, next season in CL I think we should just play the kids whenever we face a decent team, because the next away game at Brighton is more important.....
Let's see what he does next season because next season is not this season so it will be a different season and different things will happen.

Everything !!! It's 100% the most important think but why not prioritise the FA cup over Europa then as it is arguably easier to win - and you only play half a season

Those of us who are being "negative" are tinkleed off due to fact we played better Spurs sides against weaker sides to get to this stage in the comp...

We've played similar strength sides in all cups.

I've said several times this season why cups are difficult to win even if you do prioritise them. In a one off game any result can happen, as we saw when we went out against Palace despite being the better side.

It's about the same as we put out against Fiorentina away.

But you are avoiding the question. How much importance do you place on our league challenge?
We played DORTMUND today in the latter stages of an European Cup. We play an already relegated and abysmal Aston Villa side this weekend. Our Ladies team should beat Villa.

Might as well put the ladies team out in the 2nd leg. Win the next two league games, then we are set for a crunch run-in, us and Leicester with only league games ahead of us.

If we get top spot, none of you will give a solitary phuck about this cup tie.

We should just forfeit all the CL games next season. Need to concentrate on the league.

We will still have weigh up the opposition alongside our league form/injuries etc. sadly we can just put our heads down and go for it! Our squad is not ATM strong enough to, but I believe we going in the right direction?

Job was done in the first leg there

Job was done by them in the first leg tonight!!!

What's your point? Poch gambled in the away leg to a good team, it worked out alright. He gambled again tonight against a better team and we lost.

Was it '87 we went on good runs in both cups and finished 3rd in the league? Maybe if we'd have gone out of the cups, we'd all be naming the 1987 title winning side, who knows?

I hope, now the decks will clear for fixtures, in years to come we'll be talking about the 2016 title winning team. We won't have any excuse not to put real pressure on Leicester now.

Avoided the question for a second time. Do you not want to say how important you consider the league challenge to be?

As I said at the time..we need to buy a player in the window.
Preferably another holding midfieder.
I can't understand it when we had a chance of moving forward.
Anyway...".........

Really ? Even before tonight's game I'd laugh at this. Seriously.

I was wrong, they caused us far more of a problem than I thought they would. They were great tonight, and we were sloppy.

I think our young squad will be hungry for more games against that level of team so they can show their real selves.

Absolutely gutted after watching that.:(
Entirely predictable as well, given the starting line-up.

We had better take 6 points from our next league games vs Villa and Bournemouth to justify it!

Yeah I agree with that but our record after Europa is awful and it costs us season after season. This season we look like we're having a go at it and when we play our first top team we fold....

I 100% wouldn't have minded had it been in the last round as it would have been a case of throwing it earlier enough to focus on others.

I'm not saying we didn't have the hardest draw as we clearly did but seems strange to throw it after so many games

Ugh, that was like watching "old" tottenham, no fight, no urgency, no tottenham players making claims for those 2 pens, timidly losing to a better side. I hate the Europa cup, if you're bored, you can find my rants about it and this was the team you play against carrier bag fc and the like. I didn't see tonight as a Europa tie though, I saw it as a barometer of where this tottenham side is against a champions league contender next season. The players had no hunger to win this one, this was a damage limitation exercise by Poch that failed, I feel sorry for the 3500 Y!ds who spent airfare and more to watch this performance.
We didn't learn anything tonight and such a listless performance won't do anybody good, even the players rested, its a 3-0 loss, that's never good for morale.

Just to talk about something that happened in tonights game, for a change...

Was it me, or did they seem to target the full-back on whichever side Onomah was playing? 1st half, Trippier had a hard time, 2nd half, Onomah was on the left more and Davies was getting the sh1t. He will have to work on the defensive part of his game.

No point if we just play their second-string counterparts while saving ourselves up for the titans that are the relegated Aston Villa and gigantic, awe-inspiring Bournemouth. They can be as pumped up and motivated as they want, won't help them if they're stuck on the bench in these big ties so we can lose and focus on hosting the titanic Aston Villa or whoever.

Sigh. Anyway, there's little point in continuing this dissection. We deserved to be whipped for sending out a stupidly weak side, and Poch deserves all the brick-bats he's getting for that decision. On a more fundamental level, we might really have to start asking ourselves what it's *appropriate* to criticise Poch about: if even throwing games that could have been memorable encounters isn't enough to justify criticism in the eyes of a range of posters, then what is?

Other than that, we can do little but move on, and focus on these vital, heart-pounding games against Villa and Bournemouth that we decided to save all our strength for.
