Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

IF we win the league, I have no idea how I will cope with the total euphoria that will engender and no idea how I will react other than total and utter delirium. One thing I am sure of is I will not be checking how Poch celebrates - rather I will be bowing down in front of him in adulation.
But I am getting carried away. One game at a time...

If, and I stress if, we are to win the league then I will never need Viagra in my life

Haha! You've created a Chich and Spurs7891 hybrid!!! Talks crazy and off limits non-stop! The vaselined manboobs were annoying, they weren't in a proper bra. A proper bra is...

A @Danishfurniturelover and @Spurs7891 hybrid would ask if there was any webcam news two hours before kicked off and then write a blow by blow account two days later complaining that the custard and tights weren't used as well as they used to be.

It really spoiled the celebration mood !
Most people in the stadium were far too busy jumping up and down to have a clue whether Poch celebrated or not. AS for Poch himself, I suspect that he is pretty knackered actually...
I actually like coaches who don't celebrate. It's like saying "of course we scored; we're better."

Did he celebrate any of them? I only saw the camera on him when Erik scored, and he didn't appear to celebrate that but what about the other goals?

Either way, not the end of the world. As said, it implies we expect to score and raises the bar.

That's because the football we dished up was so incredibly brick (without Bale I should add) that when we did score he celebrated like a madman!

Give me what we have now compared to then every day of the fudgeing week.

Ain't that the truth! Good lord, we were brick to watch back then. More fun to watch paint dry. But that's not for now! Let's not get into it. I just wanted to agree with your sentiment, how good we're to watch now compared to then.

Pochettino did celebrate Eriksen's goal against ManCity. He also went all the way to pat Alli on the back when he scored the wonder goal against Palace. So, it is not like Pochettino doesn't know how to celebrate either. But he seems to be very choosy when to celebrate.

Frankly, Pochettino's muted reaction when Lamela scored against Fiorentina reminded me of Redknapp's embarassed facial reaction when the out-of-favour Pavly scored against Wigan in 2010. I think it really helps the confidence of the players when the managers join in the goal celebrations.

Record points haul after 27 games...

2016: W15 D9 L3 | GD+28 | Pts54
2013: W15 D6 L6 | GD+15 | Pts51
2012: W16 D5 L6 | GD+19 | Pts53
2010: W13 D7 L7 | GD+22 | Pts46
2006: W12 D10 L5 | GD+13 | Pts46

It was back in 1985 the last time were doing this well in the league at this stage...

1985: W16 D6 L5 | GD+26 | Pts54

Amazing what a real coach can do for players. He is directly responsible for hauling poor/average/untested into the limelight.

Rose - was never convinced
Kane - who really knew?
Lamella - lost cause
Dembele - forever frustrating with his talent
Alli -
Eriksen - didn't dictate play regularly.
Dier - looked like he had potential, he is currently lord of the mannor. The fulcrum of our tactics.

Poch had earned every penny of his contact to date and the rest of it.

What is wrong with Pochettino anyway ? Is he too scared or proud to celebrate our goals ? While everyone in the stadium celebrated our second goal by Lamela against Fiorentina, Pochettino just kept quiet without showing any emotions. It really spoiled the celebration mood ! Even Vorm celebrated the goal. The least Pochettino could have done is to applaud the goal. After the way he celebrated our winning goal against ManCity, thought Pochettino has changed his ways but he seems to be back to his shell. Compared this to AVB who always celebrated wildly whenever we scored our goals. Really enjoyed watching AVB celebrate madly like that. Wish Pochettino can celebrate like that as well !

Sometimes mid game he has other things to focus on... Like managing the team.

What's wrong with Pochettino? Absolutely fudging nothing that's what.

I just hope we can hold on to Poch in the foreseeable future. Just in case we won't be able to, we should get some internal spies to just document everything he does at the club. Then when we hire the next guy, it's "do as this guy did if you want the job". :p Hope he stays with us for years to come though! Knock on wood.

Lets not over do it.

Danny Rose - developing talent even before MP
Kane - We knew during Sherwood's time
Lamela - Agreed
Dembele - I have always rated Moussa but most fans didnt. I like CMs who can hold on to the ball and then release the pass. They help reduce pressure on the team.
Alli - Agreed
Eriksen - Was a star before Spurs.
Dier - agreed.

You are kidding right?
Rose looked like he plateaud and would not really kick on.

You knew what about kane during sher woods time? What exactly did kane show to even suggest that he could reach this level of consistency or standard? Kane was still getting scrutinised way up until the end of last season.

Dembele has never played to this level only showing glimpses.

Eriksen is now a proper player and not a you tube highlight specialist. He again was stagnant in his application.

I couldn't care less about the Poch celebrating every goal. If he did then those moments like at Emirates Marketing Project become almost worthless. I'm sure managing a team (especially when you are an ex-player) is quite stressful and he was probably just relieved more than anything else. And where does this celebrating stop? What about tackles? Sure seeing a manager show all sorts of emotions on the touchline may be engendering (see Klopp) but all too often it's not what matters. It's the performance, the result and how the players respect the manager.

It was a big performance yesterday. We are showing such mental strength and we are relentless. West Ham next and it will be another tricky one. One game at a time, but my GHod do I love this team and manager.

He didn't celebrate lol did anyone see if he kept his nails trimmed? Must find something ... doesn't seem quite right at spurs currently ... oh yeah it's because we look amazing under our man poch

Let's not under do it either...

When he came in there were quite literally a small handful of players people were happy with in our starting 11. Lloris, Eriksen, Chadli perhaps... Some were happy with Walker/Rose/Verts/Bentaleb/Townsend etc, but for every vocally happy fan for each of those at least plenty were vocally unhappy.

In a season and a half we've gone from that to us actually having a squad where perhaps in one or two positions/roles we're a bit short. Look at the away game against Fiorentina and the cup game against Palace. I know we drew one and lost one, but in terms of performance we were good. We have a real squad now and a fantastic starting 11 too. And a starting 11 where we've not been without Verts and Dembele for a couple of games and we're just thundering on like nothing happened.

In addition to the players above, all of which have pushed on under Pochettino at the very least, we have seen youngsters like Mason, Bentaleb and Carroll perform. We've seen fairly cheap signings like Wimmer, Davies and Trippier step into what at the very least is looking like a top 4 side at the moment.

The players listed in the post you quoted are just (some of ) the stand out one's. The overall impact on our squad has been absolutely tremendous and Pochettino has reworked our squad from the dumpster fire it looked like when he took over in less than a year and a half. Without a net spend.

This transformation has been marvelous to witness and beyond the hopes and targets of even the most optimistic fans and the most ardent early Pochettino supporters. And that's not close to over doing it.
