****Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea****

How close were Son's two attempts? One of those where he caught them too plumb and they went straight into the centre of goal, when a skewed shot or header probably would have won us the game.

Header was at the keeper and the shot (was a great move) was almost kicked into begovics hands

Was hoping for the win, but given the fact that Chelsea has come into a bit of form lately, we had that midweek fixture in Farawaystan, and were missing our most energetic midfielder in Alli, a draw wasn't a terrible result. And it's not like we slipped down to the bottom of the table. No matter what happens in the scum game later, we're still 4 points from the top. In years past we'd be happy to be 4 points from 4th.

That said, though, the lads did look a bit knackered in the end. And we have to start winning more fouls near the opposition's goal. With such a threat in Eriksen, it's something we should probably try to take advantage of more.

Long way to go still and if we perform like we did against West Ham in our last 5 fixtures of the first half of the season I'll be super happy. Here's to everyone staying healthy and hoping Mason's injury is nothing serious.

COYS!

Let's get Jack Wheelchair in too then. When fit he's a snidey, cheating, heel-snapping, chance creating clam.

nah he's brick, and he'll never be fit, Costa can be effective

but, fudge it, for the sake of argument, say he was rarely injured and good, then yeah, get him in, I want effective players on the pitch, don't give a monkeys who are they are or where they come from

they are there to do a job, I'm not taking them to the pub

Jose: "I am more than happy with the performance. I am happy with the team collectively. It was the best Chelsea performance of the season, against a dangerous team.

"My players did everything to try and interpret my defensive ideas the with ball."

"We had control of the game and had the best chances.

"My team deserved more than a point."

We did miss Alli! I'd forgotten that. He is a player who has some aggression and hunger to win.

didn't miss him that badly .. will be good to have him back.

Cheat$ki just played deep and compressed, we needed that little bit more energy that understandably it was difficult to sustain after the week we had.

btw, special mention to Danny for smashing the ball into William's face .. hahaha

Sigh. Always a risk, given the exertions of the team against Qarabag, but we could have ended Chel53a's league campaign and jumped into the top four....and we fluffed it to an extent.

The positives are that it's a draw that keeps us unbeaten and that's a hard run of games out of the way. The negatives are that we can't truly consider ourselves a team fighting at the very top if we can't kill off a weakened Chel53a side that were missing Costa and still recovering from a horrendous melt-down, and we can't consider ourselves the finished article if we're still being relentlessly exhausted by trips to no-name tractor factory sides at the end of the world.

I wouldn't say we fluffed it at all. We didn't play well because Chelsea spoiled the game and had 10 men behind the ball at pretty much all times. If Chelsea played like this all season, they would not be where they are. This was a dangerous game for us, the cards were stacked against us and we came through. Between now and the end of the season there are not going to be many teams that will kill off Chelsea.

I do think we were lacking a bit of zip and I was disappointed with that, but it is completely understandable given the run of games that we've had. This would be a game that a number of teams would have lost but we didn't. We now have a week till the next game, time to recharge but most importantly we have a run of games where I really do think we will do very well. We were epic over the christmas period last year, and I believe we will do the same this season. Keep focusing on the positives Dubai ;)

That's because Dembele was moved in to a deeper role. I thought that that would work for us but Lamela had a quiet afternoon and so on we lost our attacking thrust.,

Wasn't Mason playing RWF and Dembele CM?

I know BT's graphic had them the other way around, but that's not where they seemed to be playing

To be honest, I was watching the game with a hangover, so you are probably right. Mason wasn't that great though and it seemed Dembele was employed in a more attacking role in the first half.

Jose said Chel53a deserved to win as they were the better team and had the best chances hahahahaha what a cretin this tool is

Not a tool at all, he may well be stretching the truth but do you really think that a team that is used to being top 4 that is stuck in the bottom half of the table really want to hear their manager say "We were lucky to come away with a point." ?

On paper that was the case

However it seemed more like we we playing 4-3-3 at times and it didn't quite click

Mason looked unsure of his role today

It's never ideal in our system having a right-footer at RWF. We look better with a leftie like Lamela or Dembele out there.

He did good defensive (covering Walker and high press) and offensive (link up with Walker and Son) work, but I agree the front 4 weren't cohesive.

For the 2nd game in a row, I was working, and I relied on those unbearable qunts Talksport for commentary. It sounded scrappy, how did we play?

We were alright but not at our best. We were the better side but we struggled a bit with Chelsea playing without a striker and breaking them down.

We looked a bit flat and also devoid of ideas against a very stoic Chelsea team set up to counter but not very successfully

Certainly wasn't a top performance but one that wasn't bad either

Looking at them I can't see how they will improve without fresh blood

Looking at is it was a typical game vs a park the bus side

We did create a few chances for son but everything else was shots from range

We now have some decent games to play to build even more momentum which I'm sure we will do

In glad it's poocastke we play after our next European game
