Im normally the most reactionary "supporter" you'll find but it's finally hit me what an utter waste of time that is. Tbh if the truth be known being fed up witha result (as i undoubtedly am) feels much better than empty weekends without Spurs. 2 weeks in, 2 pretty good performances -far too early to flog the team or the boss. Its going to be up and down with these guys but id rather have this lot- hungry, young, loyal lads, who look shot to pieces after that result than buy any success. Yes it's incredibly annoying, but we've got tonnes to be positive about in the future. COYS

Not a chance they will all leave, absurd. Two perhaps, but Kane and Eriksen? No. Unless our board cashes in.

Yes. We HAVE TO BE PATIENT, however sadly, we are in an 'instant world' and frankly, it appears to me that the majority of people younger than 30 have the patience and attention span of gnats.

Makes me wonder about things like friendships and marriages in the current generation. Is there any patience> Is there any fortitude? Is there any fight? Is there any reality? Is there any 'big picture vision'? Frankly mate, I have increasingly little in common with the flux of 'new supporters'...I don't enjoy hearing their myopic moaning and bleating...
 
So, what happened today? I was at work with the radio on, but I didn't hear every second. Seemed like we were well on top, made the subs and fell to bits. Were Lamela and Bentaleb THAT bad when they came on?
 
tbh i enjoyed watching Stoke in the second half. Good passing, quick movement, accurate crosses, everything id want in a Spurs team;)

we will get there eventually

Pochettino also defended his decision to replace star striker Harry Kane just after the hour mark and claimed he is lacking in full match fitness following his exploits with England at the Under-21 European Championships this summer.

"He was tired," Pochettino admitted.

"He came later in pre-season and it is normal. He is better but he needs time to arrive.

"We knew before the end of last season Harry Kane would play a lot and the consequences you can see now."

Pochettino added: "Every game is different, today my feeling was he was tired.

"This is the truth, at 2-0, after 65 minutes, I think it was enough for him. We don't take risks with his body."

If we'd played badly and got a point from 2 games so be it. But we played well, and could have 4 points. The pen opened the door for them. The bigger problem is when our defence is put under pressure it looks fragile. Stoke had chances before they scored.

There were positives. The way we dominated first half. Dembele showing value. But what happened second half?

Imo we need two things 1) a leader in the middle of the park, someone with Kane-like leadership orchestrating from midfield and 2) the whole squad needs to look at defending 101. So start from scratch, break it down: how do you defend a 2 goal lead? Get us playing tight on the training pitch, and never let us lose from being 2-0 up again.

You felt like the young team didn't know what to do when the game turned. Do we push up and press? Do we play long balls to Chadli? What we did was chase the game. What we needed to do was shut down the game, making it very hard to score against us, get compact, and from there start to win back possession and composure.

It's not that we're playing bad. We're playing quite well, but not the entire 90 minutes. That is what is going to take time. This type of consistency, as well as Poch getting his in-game tactics right do not happen overnight.

I think you have to accept that in this league you'll rarely dominate a whole game. It's how you deal with losing possession and a swing in momentum. We have a young side, and manger, who are still learning.

We dominated the first half, right setup, Kane dropped deep, Chadli/Eriksen went forward, easily could have been 3-0/4-0 at half time.

Hughes changed it up, they started 2nd half more positive, we looked a little less assured, he brought on his subs, Poch took off Kane & Mason, and yes, we fell apart.

Lamela's first touch was to give away a free kick in a dangerous area, lost the ball, failed to help cover right side effectively, which is where both goals came from. Bentaleb was just poor.

Why do you ask? What he is saying seems self evidently true to me.
 
honestly most frustrating today was one idiot sitting north upper block 53 row 20 approximately sitting 5 seats in from the left ... balding guy with a beard ginger of that ...

at every fudging opportunity when the ball was at the back all he would shout was "get rid of it" ... fudging taco was so annoying.

Yes lamella was poor but it wasn't entirely his fault for our team sitting back the whole second half. At one point lamella was attempting a tackle and before anything happened baldy shouts abuse at lamella, ironically lamella wins the ball and baldy changes mid sentence with praise.

I think im not going to the lane for a long time. Some fans old and new seem to get more irritating by the match.
