The combined stat is pretty meaningless tbh. In it Kane get the same credit for his wondergoal against chelsea as the player who passed it to him. You can cant compare goals and assists. Also comparing cup games and league games is ridiculous.
A minutes per league goals minus penalties is a good comparison.
Kane 136
Chadli 220
Eriksen 314
Adebayor 407
Townsend 754
Rose 791
Solado 796
Dembele 1140
Dier 1146
Lamela 1151
Mason 2326
That's only true 40% of the time. The other 50% is ambiguous.Stats don't tell a story, they tell you what a statistician wants to tell you.
The stats tell me that we came 5th in the league, and Chel53a won it. Are you saying that's not true????The combined stat is pretty meaningless tbh. He-he!Statics are like Bikinis.
What they reveal is tantalising. What they hide is crucial.
Lies, damned lies and... bikinisStatics are like Bikinis.

You two say that only because you don't want Lamela to be near the top, and don't want to admit that Lamela has been more influential than most give him credit for.Regardless, Modric makes a telling point about about goals, penalties and assist stats
And a tap-in goal gets the same credit as Dier's sublime cross against Everton, or Lamela's lovely through ball to Chadli...
It's not a perfect all telling stat, but it's far from meaningless. It shows direct goal involvements per minute. Over a somewhat larger sample size the amount of "free" assists like the pass to Kane for his wondergoal against Chelsea and tap in goals will even out and not be a big influential factor.
Listing central midfielders, attacking midfielders and strikers on a goals per minute stat is no more informative imo.
Ha! Seriously, I didn't even look at the stats. It was the absurdity of putting assists on a par with scoring I was ridiculing. You two say that only because you don't want Lamela to be near the top, and don't want to admit that Lamela has been more influential than most give him credit for.

But now you mention Lamela is third, just goes to prove my point.![]()
It's not absurd, it's a pretty standard thing to do and it's been done on here for years.
It's a different perspective is all. It's not uncommon to define "end product" as goals + assists, it's a worthwhile perspective.
