- the market is growing (international), so by just keeping our position we are in fact growing
- tv revenue is doubling every 2-4 years, even with additional wages, it will create a better margin for us
- and it is about long term stability, that is what Levy has succeeded in delivering ..

I think you're misunderstanding my point. I'm not trying to say we're not growing. The poster didn't seem to get why we couldn't compete on transfer fees and wages when we make a profit. I was explaining that making a profit is just the starting point, it means nothing in terms of being competitive. Same as the TV revenue. The TV revenue means we're growing, but everyone else is growing at the same rate. We can pay bigger wages every 2-4 years, but so can Swansea, West Ham, Stoke, everyone!

We can't move forward from where we are (5th/6th, occasional 4th, occasional 7th) until we significantly increase our income. Making a profit doesn't cut it.

We can pay 2 or 3 of our players over £60K a week. Man Utd and Arsenal probably don't have many players in their squad on less than £60K a week.

Bolassie looks great in the palace team but would look lost in ours IMO

He is a good player and credit to him for stepping up but up until recently had had hardly ever scored

Our attcking 3 all need at least 8/10 goals a season in them IMO

Depay will go for 25 mill easily.....i think he is worth it as well, the potential to have an Eden Hazard type impact.

If we sell the 10 we need to, and our other incomings are only Alli, Wimmer and Ings (£5m a piece), we could probably afford that.

Tottenham will try to offload as many as nine players this summer, who cost the club in total £90million.

Four of the players were bought in the summer of 2013 with the money from the £86m sale of Gareth Bale and include Roberto Soldado, who was signed for a then club record fee of £26m.

Pochettino will seek to sit down with Mitchell, Levy and other senior figures in the final week of May, although Tottenham leave the country soon after the match at Everton on May 24. They have games in Kuala Lumpur and Sydney on May 27 and May 30 respectively and Pochettino is keen to have his project set in stone as soon as he can.

Pochettino wants a wide forward, a centre-half and a central midfielder — just as when he took charge in May 2014. It also promises to be yet another busy off-season for Levy.

At Southampton, Mitchell played no part in contract negotiations. With Franco Baldini, Spurs’ technical director, thought to be in a vulnerable position, the task of haggling with players coming in and out of Spurs will again fall to the chairman.

A lot of our plans will depend on whether we qualify for Europe or not. That's quite precarious now after Villa upset Liverpool.

I'm sure it is being worked on, and I'm sure discussions have already happened. I think the point being made is that final decisions will be made at this meeting in May (assuming *any* of this is true) when Pochettino will bring his finalised thoughts to the table (as will Levy, Mitchell and Baldini no doubt).

Being worked on and probably reevaluated somewhat often, as such no "final decision" and rather a continuous work in progress.

Probably there's a small number of players that are considered first choice priority targets. But I think there will be a lot of options that will be kept an eye on and who we finally end up going for depends on a whole host of factors.

Well for me Kane and Eriksen are the only two players in that front four who are nailed on, and even then I think we may see Poch trying something similar to this year with Eriksen on occasion being used as the player on the left with a stronger player (Dembele-esque) at #10.

I really want to see us sign a winger who will scare the brick out of the opponents, someone with pace and trickery that will both make space for others by creating things and make the most of the space others create. Thauvin who was linked this weekend is a player I'd love to see us get and he would take that RWF position off Lamela and Townsend in a heartbeat. Pritchard I expect to be doing something similar on the left by the start of 2016. On top of that I think we could do with someone like Rodriguez who will get goals from a wide position, but also double up as Kane's replacement. Ayew has been strongly linked for a while and would also do the job.

Outside of those names: Berahino, Salvio, Rafa Silva, Carlos Mane.

Telegraph seem pretty confident on us swapping Kevin Mirallas For Aaron Lennon. They seem to think this is a Poch top target who thinks his game will allow us to press better high up the pitch.

I like Mirallas. He's not a superstar, but he's a goal threat and works very hard. He always seems to do well against us.

But their players don't seem to work outside their system - their qualities don't seem transferable - Pienaar being a textbook example

Experience and PL experience, versatile, strengthening the Belgian connection... Think it could be a good deal for us if we can get him at a reasonable price. Them being after Lennon could make a deal easier to complete.

i think Coleman, Stones, Baines, McCarthy, Barkley and Lukaku would do well at most other clubs
