Aaron Lennon

Don't understand why Pochettino is not making use of Lennon's pace and dribbling skills more in matches. We should atleast bring him on as a sub. If Pochettino can bring back Kaboul and Adebayor, Lennon should get some playing time as well.

I don't want to see Lennon go. I still think he can do a job for us, even if that's a minority view. One thing I would say though - watching Hull go two down at home to an average Saudi Sportswashing Machine... they could really do with someone like Lennon. And Hughes must be able to see that. Lennon would do wonders for them right now, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they met Levy's valuation (whatever it might be).

As I say, I'd personally prefer to see him stay and play a role for us. But based purely on "ITK" from watching 50 minutes of Hull City play, I'd nearly put money on Lennon being off on Monday.

One of the problems Azza faced is the increasing tendency in recent years for teams to drop back in their own half and allow us to come onto them, meaning they're always able to double up on spritely wingers like Lennon. Even Bale had to move around the forward line in order to find a way through - although that kind of underlines the difference between the two. Then again Bale is world class, Lennon can nowadays barely command a place on our bench in the cups.

We choose not to give him a place in our cup sides, if anyone honestly believes he couldn't merit a place in front of Capoue, Paulinho, Lamela and even Townsend ...

Your point is taken, the trick with Lennon is the team needs to get the ball to him early and high up the pitch, something we did in the HR era when he helped created the with and the double option of us going wide left or right.

The inverted winger brick and trying to force our way continually through a bank of players (vs. getting wide and behind them) continually I don't understand

I think Lennon is exactly the kind of player we need in our squad I think, could we get a better version? Sure. But for what we have I think he's a great asset.

I dont think Lennon will even start at Everton.

Going there for first team football. Given that Everton are well below us in the table and in need of a boost, he'll get his chance. Is it a loan or permanent deal? Loan is better, means he can't bite us in the ar5e later in the season!

It is meant to be a loan with an option in the summer

I think he'll play most games when he is fit. Him in front of Coleman is a strong right side in both an attacking and defensive sense.

I agree. I hope that it works out for him. He has always given his all when he has played for us and has been a very important player for us at many times in the last ten years.

Wow. Im a bit surprised by that deal. Not too sure that we stand to gain much?!

We lose the services of a decent player and strengthen a team, who, admittedly are lagging behind us in the table, but whom we are often competing. Strange one for me this.

Will a loan move now make him a more attractive proposition for teams in the summer? don't really understand why it would tbh.

Didn't Poch want a smaller squad to work with in the summer? I assume that we are just trying to clear out players that Poch does not think suits his methods and will fill the gaps with the kids.

Not really surprising that Lennon has gone. Bit surprising that we have done so without filling the gap - signing a versatile forward who could cover the gap left by Lennon AND cover CF would have been ideal

Aaron Lennon has better career assists per game (0.20) than Ramsey (0.14), Milner (0.16) & Lallana (0.18). Walcott equal (0.20).
