Nacer Chadli

Here In The City website posted an article about Chadli half an hour or so ago.

They claimed to be quoting the Belgian press as having heavily criticised Chadli's performance against Bosnia last night. There was a quote along the lines of "Chadli's failure caused more problems than expected". HITC then added their own creative, little twist by arguing that it was Chadli's poor supply to Divock Origi that was the cause of the Belgian media's criticism.

It's a shame that they couldn't have done even the most rudimentary research. They'd have saved themselves the embarrassment of the comments section being full of mocking replies to the effect that Chadli had been injured and therefore didn't play. They've subsequently deleted the article. Shame. It was fun reading the comments. They clearly couldn't handle it.

Well, we could try playing Dembele on the wing: I've advocated this before, and if he isn't completely out of place tactically, it's worth a shot given his qualities. Goddamnit, though. Exactly why we were trying for a wing-forward in the window. Oh f*cking well.

@physioroom: Nacer Chadli missed last nights draw with Bosnia because of a hip complaint #Spurs midfielder will be assessed further on his return to WHL

Fingers crossed it doesn't become chronic like Dembele' injury, just Sod's Law that our top goal scorer gets injured before we play Emirates Marketing Project tho.

Dembele does seem to have all the attributes to be a decent inverted winger, surely worth a try.

Played on the wing v Saudi Sportswashing Machine last season in the 4-0 (score?) didn't stand out as out of place - personally i think Erksen left with Kane behind the forward could be worth a shot?

I'd play Kane on the left in a straight swap for Chadli. He has played there for the U21s and he would present a similar goal threat to Chadli.

@OptaJoe: 5 - Nacer Chadli has scored five goals in nine PL appearances this season; he managed just one in 24 last term. Upturn.

Cracking finish today !!!

Best goal I've ever seen. Until Kane's.

Chadli doesn't seem to get much love around these parts even though he's made some big contributions to our season. I said it before but he really seems to have a strikers instinct and today's goal was another example of that.

that corner was well worked.

two short guys running to the front post
two tall guys going for goal at the rear post
chadli to pick up the leftover - and he did !

much better than corneres to the near post that always hits the first defender

Based on how poor we have been this season, Chadli's goals have been critical

Goal was obviously important and I thought it was great to see him anticipate getting the ball all the way and didn't get caught out by it passing the players in front of him. Bit of a poacher's instinct by the looks of things.

Thought he played rather well too. Best of our attacking midfield trio yesterday, was moving around well and finding some space, taking players on whilst being his usual tidy self.

He's a good finisher obviously, but he is becoming more of a threat in terms of creating things when the ball is at his fit. I like the fact he has some skill and pace, yet physically is very powerful.

Its funny because out of the three behind the striker he is the most productive and undroppable for me yet on here people seem to have a preference for the other 2....

So you either want him coming on as a sub or playing on the left? You are really beginning to worry me Milo
