Paulinho

Re: Official - Paulinho

yeah i thought gustavo was the one that helped brazil tick one - owning the midfield so that the likes of neymar don't have to be bothered with tracking back.

but who am I to criticize - I just watch a lot of games, train a number of youngsters and don't even have my coaching badges......

Tim?

Re: Official - Paulinho

He said that Brazil's problem was that they played TWO players who were similar. He said that they would perform better with a playmaker and some one like Paulhino in central mid, but not both together. Let's not be too melodramatic about it.

Re: Official - Paulinho

I agreed and so did Scolari. When Brazil replaced Paulinho with Hernanes, they looked a lot better, because he got more involved, got on the ball more and started playing some passes in midfield. Paulinho is a dead weight, he's either behind or infront of the ball, rarely ON the ball. He finishes off moves basically, the Brazilian Gus Poyet, but with less technique.

Do you think that Scolari will drop him for Brazil's next game?

Probably not, because he's loyal and he's done well for Brazil in the role (i.e. arriving late to score) over the last couple of years.

Re: Official - Paulinho

So probably more an issue of form, not ability or the way he fits the system?

Maybe I've not really seen him much before he came to Spurs been very disappointed by what I've seen from him both in terms of form/ability but also attitude

Re: Official - Paulinho

Paulinho against Stoke was out of this world! Then that c*** Adams did one on him and by the time he came back it was almost season end and World Cup preparations...

I suspect we will see a different Paulinho next season

Well one out of this world (wouldn't go that far, but he was very good) performance in a season isn't exactly pay-back for £17m. I hope to see a different Paulinho next season, that's for sure. Its concerning that his one World Cup performance so far just seems to be a continuation of his performances for us this season, however.

Re: Official - Paulinho

Paulinho has been appalling in this game again so far barely heard his name once don't think he's touched the ball once his team are struggling badly and he's just strolling in 2nd gear jogging about doing nothing as per usual

Re: Official - Paulinho

Seriously on what basis did we scout this guy and decide he would be worth buying? Absolutely awful player would genuinely rather have Jenas ghaly or Zokora playing instead of him.

Re: Official - Paulinho

Doubt it Brazil have been a man down all game and even if he did you can't play a player like that in a top level game just because he might score

Re: Official - Paulinho

Ffs I'm actually getting angry for the Brazilians Willian had a break and nobody to pass to but Paulinho never moved away from his marker he was just trotting!

Re: Official - Paulinho

Didn't think he did to bad tbh, worked hard and got into some dangerous positions, but mexico was working their socks of to stop brazil.

Re: Official - Paulinho

Worked hard? He was lethargic and lazy just like Fred and Brazil's performance overall! Don't think he worked or generally works hard at all! He was completely anonymous
