To have offered you at the beginning of the summer transfer window

Soldado Lamela Capoue Paulinho Coentrao Willian Chadli and Chiriches

for

Bentley ABE Bale Parker Huddlestone Dempsey Caulker and Gallas

Would you have taken it?

Madrid come knocking we sell. If we had real real ambition we'd tell them where to go tell bale to shut up and keep him. Yeah we've signed some good players and I'm sure we'll sign some more we won't sign any as good as bale or modric any time soon tho.

Yes, I think this squad needed a big change. A lot oF players needed and need a new challenge and are not good enough ( Hudd, Parker, Bae, Lennon, Livermore, Defoe,Adebayor).

Bale was playing on his own last season and that needed to change.

Its close to £100M anyone would be stupid to not accept it. Bale is not worth that kind of money and he is 1 poor season / injury away from not being worth half of that.

He was not even that good at the beginning of last season, there is no guarantees that he will even reach them heights again.

WhoopWhoop - a question for you - would you have held on to Bale at all costs even if it meant passing up the opportunity to improve the first team and the squad? Just to stick one up Real?

Sounds like biting your nose to spite your face to me

No I would have kept bale and bought a centre forward. Just setting ourselves up for Sandro and vertonghen to leave next season way we give in soon as someone who aint Chelsea want out players.

Is getting a world record fee for a player that is not as proven as the previous world record holder accurately described as "giving in"?

Do you seriously think clubs will come in for our players in the future feeling that they can pick them up cheaply?

You sound a bundle of joy

Just a realist mate fed up with same old **** soon as we get a superstar ready to push on Levy sees the £ sign and sells up and yet my season ticket without fail not even debatable goes up in price like clockwork every single year.

See here's the other thing u almost sound proud and chuffed we're receiving a world record fee? I couldn't care less doesn't bother me one bit thing bothers me is he's been sold and most likely we will be weaker than last season yes that's debatable I know and let's see what happens just feels same old to me develop a player and boom sell him when someone else wants em.

It's looking likely we'll be bringing in players this summer to the tune of 100m+ - i know it's a gutter to lose such a great player but as far as im concerned the squad AND the starting XI will have improved dramatically come the end of the window. THFC is bigger than Bale

We cant turn down that kind of money for Bale. I'm happy with the window if Bale leaves and we bring in Willian and Lamala.

Honestly I have no idea how good any of these players are. We could be selling Bale and buying a bunch of donkeys, too early to tell.

Real are the biggest lure in the world, even United had to sell Ronaldo. Sadly for Bale, I don't think he's on that level and Madrid fans will be expecting a Ronaldoesque player for the money they are spending. I think he'll be good, but he won't justify his price tag and the fans will turn on him quickly.

We won't know until the end of the season whether this summer is a success assuming Bale is gone. Anyone who claims the summer to be a success/failure already is just guessing, since they almost certainly haven't seen any of our signings play a full 90 minutes before joining/being linked.

Hopefully none of these big money players are flops, but I expect at least one of them will be.

Last year we were far too one dimensional. Yes it worked because Bale was in incredible form, what if he didnt have such a good form this season? especially with him missing the first handful of games due to injury? He still would have wanted to leave next summer and we probably would have got alot less.

If we buy all the players we are being linked to then we would have a whole team full of threats. We would have gone from having one match winner to having 3 or 4 match winners and a much stronger first team.

I think you need to wake up to the fact that Spurs aren't a giant in world football. There are bigger clubs and Real is one of them.

If Southampton thought like you, Bale would never have joined us in the first place.

Players want to play at the top level, and Real are a level above us.

Clearly. We're far stronger and the only real person we'll miss is Bale (but who wouldnt). Who knows whether Bale would have picked up an injury this year and missed half the season - we're in a better position just have the issue of bedding players in

Nope fact remains we're once again bending over and selling our best player

Bending over would be selling him at what he's worth. At 90 odd million or whatever it ends up being if anyone has been bent over its them.

As for the question would definitely take that set of players over Bale. We will be a much stronger team than last season and at the same time not so reliant on one player. Really excited to watch the team we are assembling...
