Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

wow that was crazy....posts on a 5 min loop....wtf

About a year back it used to happen. No idea what it was, or how it was happening, Admin didn't know either. If I log out and leave it for 10 mins then re log in it normally sorts it. Thing is like today, as much as I wished I was posting it every 5 mins like a crazy man.. I was away from the computer and doing work and on the phone and didn't know it was happening.

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

It's gonna be amazing to have a striker who wants to be inside the penalty area. This bloke lives on the shoulder of defenders but knows how to stay onside, he'll clean up playing for us!

So, Soldado actually signed today, about 2 weeks after Mumorn told us all it was a done deal and he was a Spurs player

Re: Soldado - Official! - Medical Completed!!

Roberto Soldado says he's 'honoured' to join the club.

We confirmed the signing of the Spanish international striker on Monday after he completed his medical.

Roberto, who scored 80 goals in 145 games for Valencia, is now looking ahead to his debut against a team he'll know plenty about - Espanyol of La Liga at the Lane on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to Spurs TV, Roberto is determined to fire us to success next season.

Welcome to Spurs, Roberto. What are you thoughts on joining the club?

Roberto Soldado: "I’m absolutely honoured to be at this club, to wear the shirt that has so much history. I’m hoping that I can score lots of goals to repay the club’s kindness in signing me."

What have you made of our progress from Spain?

"Spurs is a great club and a club that deserves to be in the Champions League. I know it’s a hard league and we have to work and play to that level to get there and I will do my best for the team."

What do you think of the squad you are now part of at Spurs?

"I’ve joined a great club with a lot of great players. As a group, including the new players, we’re looking to improve and our objective is to get Spurs to where we belong."

You scored so many goals in La Liga, are you looking forward to the challenge of the Premier League?

"I’ve come here as a striker to score goals. I always try to achieve more goals in the next season, so that will be my aim, to score as many goals as I can for Spurs next season."

We play an attacking brand of football, how excited are you to join a club that plays in that way?

"I love playing in a team like that, a team that holds onto the ball and then attacks. It’s Andre’s style and it’s good for the fans to see that (style of) football and for the team as well."

You should make your debut this Saturday when we play Espanyol at White Hart Lane, a team you know well. How much are you looking forward to that and what can you tell us about Espanyol?

"I’m really looking forward to hopefully making my debut at White Hart Lane on Saturday. Espanyol is a team I know very well. It’s a team that ended the season very strongly in Spain, they have lots of good, young players and they are a dangerous team to play against."

It's likely to be a sell-out on Saturday, underlining our fantastic support. Are you looking forward to playing in front of those fans?

"I’m really looking forward to it. That’s one of the things at the heart of the Premier League, the fans of each team, that’s what keeps the team going. I can’t wait to experience that atmosphere."

And finally, what are your targets for the season ahead?

"My main aim is to get that number one striker shirt on the pitch and obviously, to score goals and try to get us into the Champions League, where we deserve to be."

Meanwhile, we can confirm that Roberto will wear the number nine shirt next season.

This is the only Premier League squad number we have officially assigned at this point. Keep an eye on tottenhamhotspur.com for a confirmed list of our players’ Premier League squad numbers ahead of the 2013-14 season.

Please note that numbers worn by the players in pre-season are NOT confirmed squad numbers for the season proper. The Club cannot accept liability for any changes to players numbers and/or names worn during pre-season and the start of the season.

Talk about generic answers! I bet we could look back at prior initial interviews and they would be the same. Where is the "I want to put 4 past Arsenal on my NLD debut" quote?

Perhaps I should have added a tongue in cheek smiley! I was more concerned about the blandness of the comments---doesn't seem consistent with a guy that called his former Chairman a liar. Almost as if it was written by a PR person.
