Let's hope so! I'm liking all the slating that Wenger and that lot are getting in the media; talk of how Wengercannot organise a defence, the unravelling of the myth that Wenger signs gems for cheap money, the Steve Bould 'not given enough responsibilty tiff', Fans calling for Wengers head.

Brillaint! Loving it and the good thing is their next game is Munich away. Either they'll put in a performance to get pride and a plucky draw or their lack of a LB in the ga,e means they can only play one-way and get picked-off by a team that is superior to most in terms of finishing, thus getting a real beating. More fan pressure, mpre media laughing at another year without a trophy.

Good times (though will only be REALLY good if we finish top 4 and they don't[-o<)

Im not so sure about that one...for all of our promise, and their regress, we're still fairly evenly matched. And they WILL make some changes this summer, especially if they dont have Champions League football, there is no way that they will let that happen and not do something about it. Wenger's stubborn, but he's too bad a loser to let that get in the way of his precious 4th place. It will interesting to see what difference it makes to each team's player recruitment though. Given that Wenger seems unconvinced by many of the players that Arsenal have been interested in in recent times I struggle to see who he's going to bring in that will significantly improve them, regardless of whether theyre in the Champions League. IMO the level of player that we can bring in is more greatly affected by CL status than it is at Arsenal; I could still see them pursuing and being able to sign Podoslki or Cazorla type players, even in the Europa League...players who, if coached into an effective unit, are amply capable of maintaining parity with us. I doubt that we can sign the sort of striker that everyone is calling for without the badge of Champions League football, and that may just harm us in the long run.
 
Hey, we had a chance to put a big torpedo into them the final year of Highbury. Finish fourth and they start at the Emirates in UEFA Cup play. A final day win at Waste Ham would have clinched it. We all know the outcome. Mind you, it's not like the years since have been so terrible.

They had their turn to put a big torpedo into us Sunday. New stadium about to go up, naming rights deal to be done, new pair of shirt sponsors to be sorted. A win for them might have made those negotiations a lot less enjoyable. Alas, for the Arse, all they did was make their fans sick.

He did what he does every game: Run around, beat a couple of players in the middle of the park, before either

- playing a lateral pass to someone in the acres of space his little run has created. [against teams that cant defend particularly well] or
-running out of ideas, and unable to pick out a threatening pass [when facing decent opposition]


I'll leave you to work out which category we fall into ;)

It was interesting that MOTD2 highlighted that Walcott was actually making good bending runs that were not being seen early enough by the Arsenal midfielders, including Wheelchair.

Whilst we have missed Modric and VDV many times this season, especially earlier in the campaign, they seem to now be showing signs of really missing Cescand to a lesser extent Song (though you could argue that having Van Persie made whatever level of vision Song had even more effective).

I like the fact that AVB has mofified our system in recent games to such an extent that the park the bus tactics are not as uniformly effective in nullifying us as they were earlier in the season.

st totteringham's day.. their fans and the general media have made an event out of this. looking at how arsenal mounts statues of "still playing" players, and how even the academy youth and new recruits starts to hate Spurs at such a young age regardless of which part of the world they come from, I am inclined to believe that it is a managed program by the club, to create a common external enemy, to fake a tradition and hope to close ranks and unite player, fans and staff.

won't be surprised to see some nasty backlash when arsenal to meet their made-up ambitions; they made their bed, so they can sleep in it.when we do finish above arsenal i hope the club and fans will go about cherishing the moment, but remain classy in doing so.

As per AnthonyG's suggestion, here I am.

First, let's take the Manchester clubs out of the process. The Fergie bastards will win the League, because they have the one player that matters: Mike Riley. City will finish 2nd.

That leaves 4 clubs going for 2 Champions League spots. Here's the table as it currently stands:

3. Tottenham 54
4. Chelsea 52
5. Arsenal 47
6. Everton 45

There are 10 League games to go for each of them, with a potential 30 points:

Arsenal should beat Reading, Fulham, QPR and Wigan. Saudi Sportswashing Machine will stick in the memory because of the Phil Dowd Game, but we'll win there. West Brom away is a banana-peel game, but they're not as good as they were earlier in the season, so that's another win. Either or Norwich could be trouble, either could be a draw; I'm calling Norwich a draw but saying we'll beat Everton. Swansea away should be trouble, but if we start Koscielny instead of Vermaelen, we could hold Michu back, and get at least a draw. And, of course, there's no way we will be allowed to beat Man U, not even at home. 7 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss: 23 points.

Tottenham will beat Fulham, Wigan and Southampton. But Liverpool, Everton, Stoke and Sunderland will all be trouble. I'd be surprised if they got wins in even 2 of those, in fact I'm saying they'll win 1, probably Sunderland. They will lose away to Chelsea and Swansea and home to Emirates Marketing Project. 4 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses: 15 points.

Chelsea: Fulham away, West Ham home, Southampton away, Sunderland home, Tottenham home, Liverpool away, Swansea home, Man U away, Aston Villa away, Everton home. Honestly, I can't see Chelsea losing any of those, except Man U away. Maybe Liverpool will forge a draw at Anfield. 8 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss: 25 points.

Everton will beat Stoke, QPR, Fulham and West Ham at home, pull off a shocker away to Liverpool (surprises abound in the Merseyside Derby), and draw away to Tottenham and Sunderland; and lose to Arsenal and Chelsea away, and Emirates Marketing Project at home. 5 wins, 2 draws, 3 losses: 17 points.

3. Chelsea 77
4. Arsenal 70
5. Tottenham 69
6. Everton 62

So there it is: May 19, the last day of the season, is St. Totteringham's Day.

I was right last year: I said Arsenal would finish in the Top 4 and ahead of Tottenham, and I was right. I will be right again this year. Just call me Ezra Klein.

That is just a joke, he predicts 23pts for Arseanal and only 15 for us, change Stoke and Swansea to wins for us and he might be nearer the mark and even then 19pts might be less than we'll get but it'd be enough.

That's we said last season when he "predicted" they'd catch us.
 
If we can win 5/10 remaining games as a minimum that'd be 15 points plus the 7 we are currently ahead by making it 22 points. Meaning they'd have to amass 23 points to do us. That'd be 8 wins or 7 wins and 2 draws from their last 10.

April 28: We may only get a draw at Stoke, and they'll beat Blackburn -- but you never know, Blackburn won at United. Us by 10.

May 5: We beat Norwich, and they lose at Villa. Us by 13.

May 13: Season finale, we win at West Brom, they win home to Fulham. Us by 13.

We finish 3rd, and don't need a qualifying round for the Champions League. They finish 7th, and Harry and all their macaron fans say, "Wha happened?"

If we do win 5 and draw 3 of our remaining games, Arsenal would have to win 8 and draw 1 (or win 9 or 10) of their remaining games.
