Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Sorry, but what does that have to do with anything?

The discussion was about Liverpool contacting Zenit about potential racism during their forthcoming games.

And given Liverpool's less than satisfactory handling of the Luis Suarez controversy last season, it seems to me a reasonable broadening of the discussion to ask such a question.

Is there another top English club with fewer black players in their history?

At the London clubs its become common/usual to see teams with a majority of black players, to the extent I doubt we'd even notice if a team had no white players. The lower clubs also tend to recruit widely. But I noticed a few years ago that black players were rare at United and Liverpool, although United have a few more now. City and Everton also seem to have more black players.

Whereas I am pleased to say Spurs had the second ever.... and a bit of a hero of mine.. Walter Tull was only the second black player in football league history when he played for Tottenham Hotspur in 1909 and, later, Northampton Town. During his time in the army, Walter progressed into the officer ranks (another first), dying in France in 1918.

Indeed...

Walter Tull was the first footballer I featured in my Legendary Players series...

Are Spurs singing our Luis song (well, the chorus) for Lewis Holtby?

Holtby is pure class. Why can't we ever get players like him?

Sickening

fudging hell..what in the world is this?

Bale is ridiculous

fudge off, fudging hell.. I give up

Tottenham seriously depresses me.

One man team

We're not even that anymore

Why that can't happen to us, why? ](*,)](*,)](*,)

Goalkeeper beaten before he even shot. Bottled it.

Terrible keeping and yet it's classed as a great free kick. Give me a break.

What really gets me about Bale is that the mountain of money Tottenham will get for him will be well spent and they'll most probably become an even better team. Motherfuk.

I fudging love Gareth Bale.

There, I said it.

Absolutely love seeing Liverpool struggling. Most of my mates support them because they were the United of the 70s and 80s (same group of people who accuse United fans of being glory hunters).

I waited 25 years to finish ahead of those bastards and hopefully we'll do it this year for the fourth season in a row. I used to dread each season until about November-December in case this was the year that they finally ended their title drought. By Christmas, the fear was usually gone as their title hopes went up in smoke (albeit until BMJ, our season was usually over by that point).

That said, I always have a horrible feeling that the bindippers will come back at some stage. They can't be this mediocre forever...all it takes it some billionaire to come in and they are transformed from mid-table dross to league winners overnight (see Emirates Marketing Project).

"Its wonderful to know spurs will be Spurs again next year when hes gone to another tree with richer fruit"

They all said the same last season about Modric. RAWK really is full of idiots.

Of course they'll come good again at some point. Though when the new owners took over they said something like ROdgers was expected to get them back into the CL in the near term. At best, if they spend well this summer, retain their best players and integrate the new ones well, then they might get themselves into contention next year but they'll still have an almighty battle on their hands against us, the russians, arse and potentially Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

What's this about then?

I just saw the RAWK Meltdown thread on Red Cafe.

Someone on RAWK posted this:

Imagine if you will, that we are not talking about football but that we are talking about language and Rodgers has been hired to teach our squad how to speak Chinese. He comes to the club and he realises that some of the players can understand a few basic words of Chinese but not enough to communicate effectively. He is also hampered by the lack of Chinese speaking people who are available to join us. Rodgers starts to teach the squad Chinese and some players learn more quickly than others and also adapt quicker to speaking the new language. Realising that it would help if he could bring in a fluent speaker, Rodgers moves to bring in Joe Allen and initially Joe has the required impact and the team's language skills improve. Like any new learning programme there will always be hiccups and there will also be flashes of brilliance when every word is recited perfectly but it takes time. Rodgers has had just 8 or so months to teach the squad Chinese and although the Squad is not where we would all like it to be but there is noticeable progression in their language skills as they get to grips with the new language. Imagine how good the players could be at Chinese next season when they would have had 12 months to learn the language and Rodgers is bound to bring in some more Chinese speakers in the off season that will supplement the learning of the squad and hopefully ensure better recitals next season.

We need to be patient, brave, supportive, strong, proud and most of all respectful because I genuinely believe that once this squad masters Chinese, us supporters will reap massive rewards...... YNWA
