Vegas booked....

Boonie

Ramon Vega
Just booked 5 nights in Vegas for my 40th ties in with our 10th wedding anniversary too. I got married in Vegas and we are going back to the MGM and staying in the same suite! Cant wait, bring on November!!! Would love to copy Marky and do the Ashes but the money aint there.

On a side note I am looking for a good European family holiday, all inclusive and kids club are a must. Has anyone got any recommendations?

Went to Rovinj in Croatia in the summer - really lovely place. Also, there's loads of good all-inclusive places in Turkey as well.

Sounds like we might be going to Vegas too. My missus won an award at work, and a week in Vegas was one of the things she was offered.

Don't kids clubs have an age limit? jumping into a pool of balls is fun i will give you that but i think you might be to old for that at 40.

Vegas.

Never been, but when I see the type of person going there now (i.e. Brit chavs) I shudder. (All present company excepted of course)

Did you know it is currently more popular amongst the inhabitants of the Welsh valleys than the Spanish beaches are?

Not a Vegas fan myself, but would advise everyone to experience it once in their lifetime. It is a silly place.

Trumps impact on the US is massive as is the emergence of other destinations. I work in events for 15 destinations and we are getting business hand over foot because of people not putting events in the US because of entrance problems and also issues working in destinations.

I also think Vegas as a prospect is fairly dated now, youngsters want adventure or experiences, Asia and places like Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro are massively popular now for it, Japan one of the hottest destinations to visit now @tommysvr you must be noticing the boom there, I know its a subject of contention locally with overtourism

It’s insane, has been for about 2~3 years I think. Definitely areas where it is definitely overtouristed and often the worst ones go there. Ignoring all of the rules (which Japan loves) to get a photo for instagram. A fast way to tinkle off the locals, and then make it even harder for foreigners who live here. See one foreigner behaving badly and it creates a lasting impression. I think (hope) it will die off soon…but the weak yen is certainly making that very slow.

I have lived in Las Vegas and have done on and off for 17 years. Its very little to do with Trump 🤣

Mate I literally make my money from tourism, have done for 25 years bar a Covid break in Healthcare and I can tell you the UK market in travel and events are not travelling in numbers as they did because of the over zealous nature of Passport control.

One of my clients had an absolute nightmare last year, the stories have spread like cancer in the events industry and people have blacklisted it from their decisions.

Trumps influence on politics, immigration and the cost is 100% an impact.

The event that ive helped book into BC from the US is worth 2.3m to the economy of which I get a commission after profit, so im laughing. It was originally booked in for west coast America

There is a $1bn+ tourism blackhole in the US

Yeh, my Asian partners have stopped selling it as a destination this year because of it, also out of respect to their local partners. The strain on resources is mad, not enough tour guides or drivers because of the aging population.

Asia as a continent is booming in general, the sheer bang for buck and culture value is incredible. Im.back out to Bangkok and Cambodia for a conference and an add on. Loved Siem Reap

I was about to say. Like everywhere, there is the Vegas that us tourists see and there is the place that the locals live. Where do you live in Vegas?

I've been 5 or 6 times with different work events and had some friends that lived outside the tourist areas. They seemed to love living there.

My favourite place for a blow out in the US would be New Orleans, not Vegas.

And I literally know several hotel finance employees including my next door neighbor. We can just let the data tell the story though.

  • In 2025 the decline in Las Vegas tourism was 7.5%.
  • International tourism to Las Vegas accounts for 12%.
  • Remaining 88% is domestic US travelers.
If we assume that the 3/4 that 12% is politically motivated people who hate Trump, which is generous to your arguement, it would account for a 0.675 % drop in tourism. Significant sure but it’s not making the headlines.

You then have to account for the remaining 6.825% decline that’s come from Domestic US travelers. There isn’t anything specific about Las Vegas or Nevada that relates to Trump. He owns a hotel here with his name on it but he has the same in several other city’s. It’s a swing state and Vegas itself is Democrat.

So what could the other factors be? The obvious one is if you ask why do people come to Las Vegas? Gambling and Entertainment.

Sports gambling is now legal in pretty much every state. As a result, the convenience and accessibility of online betting primarily through cell phone apps has lowered the exclusivity and appeal of visiting Las Vegas solely for sports gambling.

Las Vegas has become more expensive an there is a lack of affordable hotels, dining and entertainment options. Even from a gambling perspective you will struggle to find a blackjack or roulette table on the weekends that’s below $25 a as a minimum bet.

The middle class couple that would drive here from California used to be able to do be able to do a weekend trip for $1000. Stay in a decent hotel, the husband makes some bets on NFL games, the wife wants to see a show and go do a nice dinner. It’s now a $3000 trip.

They have just priced out the middle class who at the same time are facing stronger economic pressures.

UK travel to the US is down 14+%

UK events industry are avoiding it because of Trump led impacts.....cost of doing business rise, immigration impact on international delegates. Using the example of yesterday when my client confirmed BC citing his board decision due to costs and the impact of Trump, I suppose he is lying and it wasn't that despite people having the choice to change their minds over any reason they want??

The escalating cost of events due to tariffs is killing international events into the destination, Vegas is the largest conventions city in the US, its 100% impacting tourism into the destination

Those are just facts.

I'm talking about international impacted travel into Vegas and the US, its massively down, that cant be disputed.

I dont care about the domestic performance, although surely Trump is responsible for domestic pressures and people being priced out?
