TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs SUNDERLAND - OMT

thing is, Vertonghen isn't the only one to play every minute of every game this season, so maybe a slight niggle?

Obviously I don't know the state of the squad with regards to fitness and such but I'd have started Parker and Siggy today. Would've had Townsend rather than Livermore on the bench too.

played nearly every minute of every game, we have a quality squad you have to use it these days, past 2 seasons harry has run our players into the ground

Yeah i can understand him being rested, but i think it would have made more sense resting him against reading at home

Vertonghen tweeted the other day about how this is the first time he has played at this time of year, needed the rest. Not to mention he is 1 yellow card away from a suspension too.

The bench tells me we will see the team go to 3 central midfielders later in the game.

Not so sure, I think AVB is as bad as Harry was when lining up his bench.
Not looking at position and roles, just prefer senior players no matter how unbalanced the bench is.
Last game was two centre backs on the bench, no striker.
Not the biggest issue in the world, but one that will cost us several youth prospects

Think thats harsh, Redknapp use to put two keepers on the bench instead of a youth player...

Yes those times was the worst, I was furious when Harry did that. Reason enough to sack a manager when that happens regulary

Whilst I'm pleased to see Vert getting a break, am slightly concerned about the lack of leadership and brains in our back 4. Glad that we have Dawson in there to mark Fletcher - exactly the sort of CF which he'd want to mark. Leaving Gallas out was obvious - cant remember the last time he played 2 games in a week

Like others, would have liked to see Townsend on the bench - however, as with pretty much every game this season, you look at our bench and there are minimal/no options there if we need to change the game. WOuld like to see us bring in another attacking option in Jan
