Police Blocked Off and Taped Off My Road

Wow, just come out of my flat to be greeted on the road by the sight of 3 police cars, a whole massive area taped off and a crime scene tent, that really dont look very good

I live in a really lovely, quiet development a bit off the beaten track, all nice families and commuters live here, not nice at all
 
Didn't you say you had junkies or drug dealers living opposite you? or was that someone else?

Rudolph Giuliani's main tactic whilst Mayor of NY was to keep crime in the deprived areas and do anything in his power not to let it spill to the 'nicer' parts.
 
My dad lives in a flat in the middle of a high street in the Church End area of Finchley.

A couple of years ago I got back to his flat, go on the balcony and I see there's a woman holding her screaming child right below the balcony (he must have been about 2 years old)

A few minutes later loads an ambulance arrives with a couple police cars and the child is given an oxygen mask who is uncontrollably screaming and crying. A few minutes later and there's loads of ambulances now and police cars, and the child is taken to hospital. I later found out the child had run in to the road, and got hit by a car. I immediately felt sorry for everybody involved (the child, the mother and the driver of the car). The area was taped off (leaving me inside the taped off area) and everyone who wanted to use the high road now had to be diverted. A couple of people decided they would just ignore the police line and walk under it, with one guy claiming he didn't speak English and didn't understand it said DO NOT CROSS, and the fact that a portion of a main road that leads in to Central London had been taped off obviously led to quite a bit of chaos.

I even took a photo of it:

As you can see, this road that is usually quite busy, is completely empty as the police were telling everybody that they cannot come down there
 
Getting stranger by the minute

THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap.

Police launched a search for Thomas Brittain on Saturday after they received reports he had been assaulted and abducted on Friday night.

He called police on Saturday lunchtime to let them know he was safe and well.

Officers found he had not been the victim of any crime after they met him in Frinton.

Following a series of inquiries police discovered another man had been assaulted.

He had been discovered nearby and taken to Colchester General Hospital with several injuries.

The man is now recovering at home.

A 26-year-old man from Colchester, a 17-year-old boy from Clerkenwell, east London, and a 20-year-old man from the Clacton area were arrested on suspicion of kidnap on Saturday afternoon.

They have been released on police bail until December 4.
