Storm raging outside, got a bit of a cold and having a bit of an ibs flare, nothing else for it but to login to spursplay and rewatch yesterday's game with a cuppa.
I genuinely didn't realise he was on the pitch until about 20 minutes in.did Henderson even play yesterday?
I watched the whole game and didn't notice him once, and I would have, I think he's a clam
For me the season started at Man U. We had shown in small periods what our game could look like previously, but in that game we truly dominated regardless of the score.
As predicted, with a bit of time things are beginning to come together - not getting carried away, but you can see what was blatantly obvious from the start, that RDZ is going to have us being a very good footballing side....
Encourage?.....it's an absolute PRIORITY watching us beat those clams at the Bridge in all its glory!Edit : would actually encourage you
to find the full match replay to see how strong we were on the ball
I thought if you need to work 'on improving your end product ' you'd get ridiculed by some on here, and regularly called 'brick' ''where attacks go to die' etcAgreed. Although I also think Savio will be decent too if he can stay fit! His performance against Utd was good but just needs to work on improving his end product, He’s the closest thing we have had to an out and out winger since Aaron Lennon.
The only reason people questioned the fees paid is because it was Spurs who paid the fees. Had those same players gone to Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Emirates Marketing Project for the same money we wouldn’t have heard a peep. Disappointing thing for me was that we even had some of our fans on here carping on about it. If you want good players at a good age, who have already shown that they are premier league ready then of course they won’t be gettable for anything other than big money. Well done to Spurs for backing the manager and paying it.Fair play, I personally think Tonali will justify the fee - everyone was laughing at Chelsea splashing the cash on Fernandez to begin with but then he ended up proving his worth and I think Tonali is every bit at his level and going to be that important to us.
I think Savio will too with time (I'm thinking next season) but that's harder to argue because I know you will throw his stats back at me, but having watched plenty of him in Spain I think if used properly on the left he is going to be great and justify the fee.
Obviously going to take time to see either way, just my opinion....
Mudryk is a loan. Let’s indeed give the other two a little bit of time before we judge them, I thought Savio showed some things against Man Utd that indicated why the manager was happy to sanction big money to be paid for him.For me I think we had our pants pulled down with Mudryk, Savio and Marmoush. Time will tell.
Every game I see Jackson play for Villa I see a missed opportunity for us, he would’ve been perfect for De Zerbi’s system.Marmoush makes such a difference to our play, he's making space and making runs.
I don't think he's the CF answer , but he should be starting till we have fixed it
There was never any such rule. The only one in that sort of area is that a ref cannot let a quick free kick be taken if he is going to book a player. So, rewatching the game and mvdv get booked for his challenge in the run up to the Palmer incident.
Two points, I thought you don't get a booking if advantage is played, has that rule changed?
If it hasn't been changed why did no Chelsea player get booked for their through the back challenges some of which were late as well?
It's a lot more comfortable watching it when you already know the result ...I see a lot on here thought it was a comfortable watch, I didn't. We played well and looked in control but I've seen so many games like that in the past in which we've not got over the line. I feel far less confidence watching or listening to matches than when I'm at the game.

Excerpt from football.london on the incident. Was there not an instance a couple of years ago against Liverpool where that was the reason for I think Bergvall not being sent off?
Savio has been a bright spot in our attack, his end product has not been fully up to speed, but he is occupying defenders/making space.Mudryk is a loan. Caicedo never looked more like an aging thug than yesterday. They were utterly bossed in midfield. That plum somehow gave Caicedo a higher score than anyone except Tel.
Those ratings seem to have been issued through gritted teeth
Well put Steff! It does seem like they've become much more of a unit, and are closer to each other as a group, and hopefully that will continue. We still have more quality to come back, in Savio, Xavi, Odobert, and Mudryk, and having those options as well, can only help. I think all of those suit our style of play, and can contribute positively. For me, the biggest question was never the squad (still need a top goalscorer/CF) but whether RDZ could find the character, fight and personality for us to have an identity. A will to win. A desire to fight for each other. I have seen signs growing, but it was at Old Trafford when I felt we found that connection. We'll look back at Solanke's injury time and equaliser and realise what a turning point it was. After yesterday, there is not one member of that squad who does not believe in another; and they will all believe that we should push for a CL spot. And we should. That isn't over-hype, it's connecting the already talented and able dots.
Belief is a virus, and I think (especially after yesterday) it is spreading throughout the club and stands.
