I trust De Zerbi. I know he can get us playing well and getting the results. So let’s put a temporary lock on this.

I’m disillusioned by the fitness talk BUT hopefully the three week international break will help. Some players won’t be called up and can work intensely on conditioning. And I’d hope we can pull some players out of national squads citing their condition.

Then we give De Zerbi until November before comment. Thomas Frank was worse and he got a lot longer.

Yeah….Xabi Alonso isn’t exactly having a rip roaring start. Neither is Iraola. I don’t know as much about Leverkeusen’s first few months under Alonso but we know Iraola’s Bournemouth always took a little while to get going,

I really think we’re going to be perfectly fine under De Zerbi. He is a manager whose teams take a while to click. So if we were ultimately going to be a team that eventually succeeds under him, it would be going exactly this way.

Think the defence and midfield are beginning to look pretty solid tbh, last couple of seasons we've been constantly overrun and I'm not really seeing that now. The attack is often the last thing to come together, and with a combination of injuries especially the no.10 position and new signings it's not surprising it's taking time to gel.

RDZ and the team will be fine....

Embarrassing to bump this thread
OTOH, it did provoke me to give a wry smile.
Spurs were 55/1 to get relegated at the start of the season; the odds are down to 16/1 now. I am not saying I think they will get relegated but I wish I had pulled the trigger on having that bet at the beginning of the season, if only to lay it off at a profit now. Hopefully, it will all come together, but association football is becoming more like the NFL, where systems get worked out really quickly, and it may be that RDZ's player-acquisition skills prove more important than his coaching skills, because he is probably not going to change his philosophy - unless, perhaps, he needs to find 10 points from the last eight games of the season.

We will click at some point and this thread will be banished into the ether until we win 7-5 and the trolls will say that we conceded 5 against peak Real Madrid.

You hope ..

For me, there is no question the team looks better, certain players we have bought are better, it looks like things could click.

But . it's on a knife edge now, had Forest & Everton put away one of their few chances, the noise level would be off the chart, if we go into the international break without a PL win, noise level will be off the chart. If we get tonked in any game, it will get ugly.

This is a results business, the manager has been backed, he won't get fired after 5 games, but he won't get forever either.
