Roberto De Zerbi *OFFICIAL*

I really am struggling to see what Van Hecke does
He done a lot of good things yesterday actually. Lots of clever line breaking passes out from the back - which we did ok with but would do much better with good wide players.

I also looked at the goals - neither were his fault.

I know there are often spacegoats in these situations but I’d probably defend him solely based on yesterday performance. It’s not as bad as being made out (by some - not necessarily you).

Didn't see last week really but he was okay yesterday. Made one great challenge to prevent them going 3 up and, as you say, made some very good forward passes.

Him, Tel and Tonali seem to be getting most of the stick at the moment. While I've not been really impressed with JPVH, no more than I have with any of the players so far, nor do I think he's stood out as particularly brick. The manager knows him, the manager wanted him. We're two games in. Let's give him a decent chance.

Was thoroughly impressed with his passing yesterday, and when the RDZ system is fully functioning he is going to be a massive weapon.

I think his defending ability (or lack of) has been over exaggerated on here but I'll reassess at the end of the season and not at the start playing in an unfit undercooked team.....

He gets a couple of wins soon, the new players start firing, we’re stringing together lovely attacks and Marmoush is banging them in. Then all of this will be forgotten. This is a new team, who had a lackluster preseason due to circumstances out of our control - things take time. We’ve all discussed this before the season - «I’d be happy with 6th» most people seem to say - we’re two games in! Two! You’ll lose a fair bit of matches if you end up 6th. We’re getting a couple out of the way early. I think we saw clear contours of what we’re trying to do yesterday, we just lack the cohesion (understandably) and execution.

The man saved us from an excruciatingly humiliating relegation last season. He’s got credit in the bank and then some for me. Give him time and the benefit of the doubt ffs. It’s been two games! Two!

We looked similarly patchy for the first 10 or so weeks under Poch, then it all suddenly clicked

Just a reminder, this was the league table after 2 games last season (not sure why we are above the Goons but still)- Was going to challenge for the title with 'a proper manager' Thomas Frank right?!

I don't think saying we need to see something from the side sooner rather than later after two poor losses is outrageous. With the league as it now is and the competitive nature you have to shape up within 5-10 games otherwise it starts to get tougher. RDZ has time and massive credit in the bank, he has to show something though like any manager in charge of a serious club

Given where we have finished the last two seasons, I can completely understand people’s worries. We have already said goodbye (Written off? “We are not ready.”) to 6 points.

Yes, we need patience and the manager needs time, but to me it all feels a bit “It’ll hopefully work out eventually” at the moment. Any team will be quickly found out in the PL approaching a season in that way.

Tonali is a prime example…how on earth can he not be ready given we signed him so early and he had no World Cup?

Yeh I also think there is abit of people making out you can't be worried because its writing people off, which its not. I think there are valid concerns. Not being ready and not using players to his disposal because he does not want them, to our detriment are two I think are valid
