Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

TBF that is funny.

I don't get the obsession around them TBH. People lose their heads over them, basically a bloke who backed his wife over his family, story older than time

Like everything in this world, it’s polarised with no middle ground. People who like them defend everything they do and people who don’t castigate them for everything they do. The South Park episode ‘Worldwide Privacy Tour’ is the funniest parody I’ve seen of them in recent times. I’m kind of surprised they’ve come back here, I thought they were gone for the long haul.

Yeh, she is just an horrible cnut.

She had abit of a fan club on here at one point

It’s incredibly misleading and ignorant. As many people who receive PIP payments have explained it’s not the disability/condition in itself that qualifies a person for PIP, it’s how that disability/condition affects your day to day life. So one person with autism might not need any extra assistance whilst another might. Same with any disability or illness. And the hoops you have to go through to get anything are seemingly designed to make it difficult. I remember each of my parents applying for the PIP predecessor (can’t remember now what it was called) and they had to complete reams of paperwork before even being assessed. And the assessment itself was long, intrusive and stressful. It seems to be the same now with PIP.

She’s obviously watched Rain Man too many times and thinks everyone with autism is some kind of “savant”.

Yep and its the whole right wing process now in full view........We have gone after the migrants, we now go after the scroungers.......its all feeling abit 1980s again. Bunch of fcuking bandwagon jumpers

Talking of benefits. I could apply for carers allowance which is £86 a week taxable. I do not know how it is possible to manage on that.

Now having had to give up work this week I note that HMRC effectively owe me overpaid tax assuming i do not work this TY to the tune of £5k but I will not get that back until next October.

The whole system is fudging deranged.

Indeed.
And there are a whole swathe of fools who believe that 'benefits' are for 'them' not recognizing that benefits are things a society pays for to help itself; everyone. And that MOST people's lives in a civilized society are wholly better for decent benefits. Because MOST people need them!!!

Are there 'scroungers'? Yes. There will be outliers in ANY group of ANY definition simply down to numbers and the fact we are people not robots. However the proportion of 'scrongers' is tiny compared to the huge amount of people who receive genuine and necessary assistance.

The divide and conquer scam in that regard is particularly vicious. I am left at once feeling anger towards those who fall for it and sadness/sympathy as they will be the ones who don't understand why they have so little post-empty promises and the further feathering of the mighty few's nests at THEIR expense...

The worst bit is that Lucy idiot woman giving herself a blue veriified tick and having herself a following now as if she’s some sort of celeb guru or person to be listened to.

An ignorant, racist fool who made a stupid post due to her racist views and rightfully paid the price for it, and no they weren’t just ‘hurty words’ she’s a pathetic individual who got herself the ou is been t she was owed.

Excuse me :) I think the middle ground does exist...Im one of them, ie I don't really give them any thought whatsoever.

Because they still wanted all the benefits that come with being working members of the Royal family without actually doing the work.

And why do you care about that? You are not even a British tax payer anymore right?

I dont really care. I’m just explaining to you one of the many reason why people don’t like Prince Harry and why it’s not as simple as him just “backing his wife”.

I am still a British citizen and own property in the UK so still a taxpayer. But even if I wasnt why would that mean I am not allowed to take an interest?

Its also not about wanting his lavish life funded, he is still the son of the King of England, if you don't think that warrants protection then I think you are being abit silly

Course you could, but I would question still why would you care?

If prepared to take on Royal duties. I dispise the monarchy by the way. Just think Harry might be the worst of the lot apart from his Uncle.

Course you could, but I would question still why would you care?

By that logic why do you care about US politics and current affairs?
