Savinho

There's some Brazilian media of uncertain reliability being discussed by City fans saying the Savinho package is now approaching 100m euros but Marmoush would be another 55m euros on top - which, if true, can only be to minimize a sell-on clause for Marmoush.

Makes sense.

It also helps us with amortisation as Savinho's value will likely hold up (due to being 5 years younger), whilst Marmoush's has likely peaked

Ex journalist guy from the Mirror. Would explain the hold-up with Savinho and the price. Not sure City are allowed to do it this way, but surely it can't backfire on us? £65M ish for each guy, not too bad after some of the first numbers quoted.

You'd think something could be disputed around some 'fair market value' condition?....but if Marmoush is transferred at around what City paid for him...it would be hard to argue his price has been suppressed.

Yeah and I guess it’s very hard to prove anyway. Eg Savinho fee being that high but…younger? More potential? Who’s to say he isn’t worth it? Who’s to say we aren’t desperate for a winger and wouldn’t pay it?

Just seems ridiculous that you can have multiple journalists pumping out that it’s to avoid a sell on and yet City and us will get away with it scot free. Maybe all clubs do it and surely we’ve been effected by it too, so maybe it’s just the cost of doing business and when these opportunities arise, you take them.
