Savinho

I think you'd have to go back a bit further actually. It's hard to argue with Dumitrescu, Popescu, Klinsmann, and one Edward Sheringham in terms of sensationalism.

Anderton, Sheringham and Ruddock all went on to plat for England within 2 years although Ruddock, very much an under rated player, had already been sold to Liverpool for a £1.75M profit which is about the equivalent of £40M is todays money relative to football spending and revenues.

If we managed to pull of Gakpo as well we have essentially signed a new team if you count Gray as a RB and Maddison/Kulu in the 10.

Dubravka
Gray JPVH Senesi Robertson
Tonali Fernandes
Savinho JM/Kulu Gakpo
Marmoush

Replacing nearly a whole starting 11 in one transfer window does not indicate that the existing players are seen as good enough and recent finishes in the PL would on paper back that up.
More style of player the manager wants compared to the previous manager (RDZ and Frank literally could not be more different!)… along with the better players wanting to leave and being able to command higher transfer fees… along with 3 or 4 potential starters in Xavi, Kudus, Kulu and Madders still being injured!

Yeh thats fair. But to be fair those issues are as much to do with injuries as anything else. If Kulusevski, Maddison, Solanke did not have fitness issues we would be in the market for 1 new forward player not 3.

The hope would be that in future windows our focus will be a combination of 1-2 marquee players and then some young talent to buffer out the squad or go out on loan.

But also we won't start the new XI at any point in all likelihood.

Dubravka is a clear number 2 and if Kinsky doesn't work out then we will go shopping in January rather than use him to complete the season. Porro and Udogie and VDV will be first choices when available and Madds, Xavi, Kudus, Tel and Kulu will be in the frame. So really what we have done is massively improved the squad.

Id bet that Robertson plays more minutes than Udogie this season. Would not surprise me if we see VDV a lot at LB as well..

Under Levy there was no strategy of signing players to fit a certain style of play. It was all about market opportunities.

They obviously haven't been. Look where we finished two years jna row and look at the performances whilst doing so. It's is not at all debatable to me that our squad and starting 11 wasn't good enough, he'll I've been saying it for years at this point.

Nah, we would still need a striker and a LWF so them being fit or not doesn't actually change our needs.

I don't think we need a AM because we have 3 already, 2 of them close to a return to fitness Simon's to come back late this year/ late next year and even Gallagher and Kudus who can donate job in that role.

We would only need to sign one of Savinho or Gakpo if Kulusevski & Xavi were fully fit.

Tbh I don't think we are looking at both because of those injuries. I think we are looking at both as alternative options for the left side and Gakpo additionally as an option up front. Neither situation affected by injuries you mention.

My expectations is that if we do sign 2 attackers, one will be a left biased attacker and the other a striker or someone who can that role. Again players not affecting the injuries you mention.

If the Lewis's pull this off then things have changed post Levy

All the other blokes have been saying something like this in 327 different ways, but when it's 'orny Orny, then who knows? Hopefully we can pull it off! Getting them both would be absolute class!
