Omar Marmoush

Marmoush was abysmal at the WC, and got dropped. I can see him as a winger but not the CF we need. Would rather any of Thiago, Ivan Toney or even Watkins.
So you are going by 1 international tournament to make your judgement and would rather sign a striker who was even worse for Brazil and 2 English strikers who rarely get a look in on the international stage? makes perfect sense.

the wheels are turning now and with there being no obvious competition from other clubs for either of them, I suspect its just a numbers game at this point. If we agree a number they like for the two, then we will get the deal done.

Based on our negotiations being largely focussed on what we need not our bottom line this summer, I expect these two and Gakpo to land.

I am gutted that Rooni Bardghji is crocked as I would so have wanted to have him on loan over Gakpo - the guy's ceiling is so high....

2023/24: Cruciate ligament tear, out for 329 days, missed 58 matches
2024/25: Unknown injury, out for 55 days, missed 6 matches
Suffered another ACL injury earlier this month, and that injury is currently listed as a 274-day absence.

Definitely not a player we should be touching with a barge pole with our injury issues.

Was in our academy for a little while a long time ago wasn't he?

And Moore.

Plus Kudus will be back very soon (which will allow Moore to move out on loan).

I think we need one more.

Two more would be great (I can’t remember us having a season since the PL started where we had that many options).

Three more would be a dream and indicate to me that the board and manager share the same ambition (actually trying to win the league). Though I don’t think we can afford three more unless we sell somebody for quite big money (so would probably have to be Bergval)
Or get a BIG loan!😎

you do remember Darren Anderton though right?

Yes, I do. I remember that before we signed Anderton he had not suffered any injuries. His problems started after he signed for us, not the first time that has happened.

On the other hand Rooni Bardghji, who is still just 20 years old has already suffered two ACL's on his right knee. I can assure you that the two cases are not remotely the similar.

Anderton also played over 500 games in his senior career. Not bad for a sicknote.

When are people going to get their head around the fact that there are several reasons why a player might not look their best in a certain team, set up or time. There is form, there is the style of the team, environment etc...
Marmoush is a quality player. There's no doubt about that. But with the wrong set up, tactic and other circumstances, he may look ordinary.

But in another team, he can look excellent!
Finding good players is easy. Building a good team is not, and this is where the manager comes in.
