But he's just a cheap version of Kroupi, so potentially we weren't bothered until the original got injured?

I get, but Kroupi was injured almost two weeks ago at this point.

My assumption is Savinho/Gapko are waiting on their clubs in's, if we think this guy is our backup, we should have done it quickly

I wonder if we still might be assessing going back in for Kroupi for the CF spot. If he's back in October, maybe its worth signing him injured and making do for the first 7 or 8 weeks?

As much as we want to be critical, not sure I remember much about Rayan being talked about on here, they literally stole a march on everyone including Hindsight Hotspurs
Definetly hindsight but the sort of signings I wish we were a little more hip to getting. I don't mind speculative honestly, but it's rare for us in the 10 or so years to unearth a gem who is ready to perform right now. That's been a big gap in our scouting or procurement.

I am a massive advocate for it, as long as its mixed. I am at peace with the fact that other clubs do their thing though, the looking over the fence all the time stuff is unhealthy at times

I think also what we see other clubs do better is not what would be replicated here IMO, I have said it for years, Eze curve here would not be the same as it was at Palace for example

We literally do that every year! But for every one of those that is a success, there are 20 that aren't. That's the nature of that kind of gambling.

Yeh, I didn't realise till the other week how many some of those teams burn through till you see them come back around again, realising they have not exactly done the business where they are. Yeh Brighton and Bournmouth do very well absolutely no doubt, but for every Ca Caicedo there is an Enciso

I would have signed him after the two games against us. He looked a real talent.
We must have been well aware of him before he played against us. It's very 'old Spurs' to sign a player because they had a good game against us, yet despite our scouting and the evidence of our own eyes, 'New Spurs' decided not to take a punt. We ended up missing out on possibly the best forward (bar Haaland) in the Prem, from what I saw last season.

It's all well and good crying about how we should have signed players x,y and z as was just so obvious how amazing they are to everyone except our (and other clubs) professional scouts.

Yet at the same time have also had to listen to how we had dropped the ball not signing the likes of Daka and a plethora of others who have gone on to do naff all - but all is forgotten about when an apparent sure thing according to the experts on here is a complete flop.

Easy game this armchair scouting....

Yeah, I recall that many of us said that at the time and perhaps if Isak had moved sooner that would’ve given us the opportunity to snag Ekitike.

Hopefully our transfer committee have someone of his calibre up their sleeve to surprise everyone, as with such a CF we might actually be able to get back into Top 4/5 again.

I suppose the issue there becomes timing, his EL showing would have alerted many clubs, Liverpool would have likely gone for him regardless, if memory serves he was their early move, once thats happened you are looking elsewhere because being frank, at that time no one is choosing us over them

I suspect that Liverpool might not have signed Ekitike if the Isak saga hadn’t dragged on for so long.
