Djed Spence

I've been reading a lot of the comments regarding Spence. I'm not convinced by the arguments that much of the criticism of him comes a racial aspect. I don't see it in discussions with my mates and fans locally and I live in one of the least diverse areas of the country.

Regardless, after another great cameo tonight I genuinely think it would be a mistake to sell him unless he is desperate to move on to be number 1 somewhere. I know next season without Europe makes rotation a bit more difficult but we would be stupid to move on a player who has shown he can do a great job at a high level as a squad player.

Also absolutely love his apparent relationship with Jude. That he was the first one to go up to him and give him praise after his run that nearly led to a penalty was great to see again. Honestly see Jude as England captain soon.

I wish Rooney and Richard’s were in the studio yesterday, would have loved to have seen dumb and dumber squirm having to praise DJed..

He's better than Porro
He's not. And let's remember he doesn't play full 90 minutes every week, either filling in for games here and there or off the sub bench - he has faced nowhere near the demands of Porro who has played almost every week since he's been here.

But it should be celebrated we have two full backs of quality, and different qualities at that....

Like all players there is room for improvement with Spence and hopefully our new manager can help him with that. He's not lacking in confidence and I hope the way he has battled and shown most of his critics he can be an essential part of successful Spurs and England teams it will inspire him to be the best he can.

So far so good in terms of the WC, so signs are there. He has been excellent in all that has been asked of him in the tournament

Long may it continue

Regardless of what happens to England next, this should give him a real boost and hopefully push him to even greater heights. Talk of selling him is ludicrous to me. Looking forward to him battling it out with Porro at RB (I’d have him LB but with Udogie and Robertson it would be a bit of a waste)

Same, want nothing but good for the lad, he is clearly a hugely talented boy. Talk of a sale when we need depth and would need to find another as good to be within a squad environment is nuts

No he isn’t. He should start ahead of Udogie though simply due to Udogie’s injury issues.
He's a better defender than Porro, so it depends if you want your RB to be better in the offers I've side of the game or defensive side of things. I personally prefer a defensively sound RB who can attack.
