Savinho

Don’t tell me you are waiting for Dragon, Ben or the Goat to leak the news
Now those are blasts from the past, I used to have a account on the COYS board 20 years ago and got banned/deactivated by the gnomes or whatever the weird ass gimps that were running that board called themselves for not posting enough.

Is Ben still up his tree 🤣

Corluka one was partly done, Mark Hughes was blocking the deal, most of the paperwork had been agreed bar the last, which was done and announced a couple of days before we then completed the final paperwork after Hughes stopped crying.

Nkoudou I don't even remember the deal so maybe you are right.

But ultimately given the number of leaks in footballing circles, if Sav was agreed already, I am sure there would be more about it TBH.
I thought with Corluka the departing City owners had signed the documents, and we just gave the incoming ones a fortnight to sort their brick, rather than going straight down the legal route to resolve it?

I just think the social media thing is telling. If Vicario had just been liking every single Juve post for the last 3 weeks, we'd know something was definitely up. There's etiquette about things like that - City would be reprimanding him if they weren't compliant

Clubs don't police their players on likes on social media mate. The Theory only works depending on how much we know about anything else he has liked. He might be laid out on his sun lounger, doom scrolling and liking all sorts on instagram,

I thought the opposite - that their conduct on it is strictly regulated by their contracts. That's part of the reason why the majority employ PR agencies to run theirs.

The etiquette seems to be that it's ok to be positive about ex-teammates etc. at other clubs, but nothing more. So Savinho posting about him and Simons and PSV memories is fine. But him liking the installation of the new beetroot bed in the herb garden at Hotspur Way wouldn't be acceptable.

Na content restricted, likes not, within reason (if you like someone celebrating something abhorrent then you are in for it)

From what I was told, there are three set ups......PR controlled, Player Controlled, Both control.

Accounts like all sorts on Insta from what I can see, I am not on it regularly TBH, but I have seen loads of our players likes on say Arsenal player content and other clubs content. Not sure I read anything in it, other than footballers are different to fans.

This is like the fans who track plans stuff for me, not sure there is anything in it

This is one transfer rumour I can't get interested in, it's gone on too long, I'm not convinced he is exactly what we need despite the usual "DeZebri loves him" gonads trotted out in every click bait yarn.

I'm fairly positive about him. We all know Guardiola was a destroyer of flair players. He's also always been more effective on the left than the right (where City tended to lever him in). I think he has a good balance of pace, trickery and end product. And his chemistry with Simons could be an important foundation longer term.

Gakpo is more of a now player, but with a lower ceiling. But in terms of a punt - I'd definitely take Savinho over Leao or Nusa

I would though also loan in Kang for the year to cover Simons' injury at 10 and give us an extra option on the left

This too, I think he is massively overrated, def one because he is from Brazil
Nah, it's because some of us watched him for Girona and were impressed by him there. I wanted to sign him directly after that season (I think I mentioned him at the time on here) and I was disappointed he signed for City (which was Inevitable).

Brazil have been brick since 2006, being Brazilian doesn't mean fudge all to me. 🤣

Literally the same thing happened to me. 🤣

I used to be a lurker on here and a poster there, then I got banned for not posting at least once a day and I came over here full time.

I might believe that one or two of you were scouting him at Girona, I am not having it that many more than that were having Girona watchalong raves to see how he did.

100% the social media demand for him is because of his nationality for me, there might be a few where its not, but its a known fandom phenomenon. If he was Icelandic the demand and ridiculousness would be half as big

Tbf You're probably right that a lot of people have just jumped on the bandwagon but I think that's generally the case for most players we get linked with. Fans tend to be overly positive about possible additions unless they know the player well and have misgivings.

Do you think Nusa gets underrated because he's Norwegian then? Or is it just that his goals and assists in Germany and Belgium have never been that exceptional?

Possibly, I just don't know how so many people have in depth knowledge on players from overseas, do they sit watching games from European leagues 24 hours a day? I don't think you get a good enough assessment of a player on TV as the ball is the focal point.
