It wasn't. It was very harsh but he put his studs, accidentally or not, onto the back of someone's leg.

Now they all need post-match reviewing, which isn't happening. And yellow cards in case they accumulate. It makes a joke of the competition if these ad hoc decisions are made. Same as the Ronaldo one years ago. Lack of consistency is dangerous.

yeah, you rake your studs down the back of someone's leg like that its always a red, it dangerous play, accident or not it, he was still out of control

Messi should have had a red for the same
