Djed Spence

Yeah. I get it’s all a balancing act. If we have the funds for a back up RB as well as other positions (or is there a youngster lurking? Don’t think there is but I don’t have much knowledge there) then fair enough. Otherwise we can get by with Spence for another year.
My mantra in life - it’s not cost, it’s value. We might lose a bit selling him next year but if he plugs a gap this coming season whilst we cover other positions then that’s ok with me.

I don’t disagree with you but it doesn’t seem to be RDZ way of thinking. I think he wants a squad of 20+ players that he has complete faith in and if that means we make 8+ new signings this summer he is going to make that happen.

I think Gray could be that young RB.

Gray is a very poor RB, grateful for him to play out of position there without any complaints or grumbles, but it’s quite clearly not his position. The difference in performance when playing there compared to CM is marked, to put it mildly.

Where does “Gray is a poor RB” come from?

Where does Gray can transition to being a full back, just because 1 or 2 others have, come from?

You are trying to create a narrative to fit your opinion.

And according to lots Trent is a tinklepoor full back, good at attacking but poor at defending, so that hardly helps your argument.

It’s not 1 or 2 examples. I just specified the examples within the England squad.

If we keep playing Gray at RB then there's also a fair chance he might ask to leave, he'll want regular game time in a more settled team soon enough.

Almost as if the media have an agenda. You telling me that Tuchel wasn't shouting instructions at other players? For some reason they aren't being shown as much.
And thr fact Spence was nowhere near fault for the goal but in so many channels got hung out. Not saying there is an agenda but he seems an easy player to be down on. Our fans did it long before he kicked a ball at Spurs

When Spence joined I felt sorry for him - hung out to dry as an unwanted "club buy". At his best he is great, but his dissing of Thomas Frank put a question mark in my mind. If the score was still 0-1 when he played the ball backwards and provoked Tuchel's ire, I can understand him playing safety first and not wanting to lose possession. I think Tuchel will need him at some stage of the game in Mexico.
