I have a feeling he’ll never be the same player he was. Wasn’t blessed with pace but what little he had will be gone and the physicality of the prem might prove too much

Do you mean us or when he was at Leicester. I don't really remember a time where I would have classed him as Tottenham's best player.

Maddison is a good player for sure but he has never been consistant, as you say he was the same at Leicester and is the same here. My son in law is a S/T holder at Norwich and during his time there he was the same.

lets hope this spell out of the game will encourage him to be more consistant.

Kulusevski immediately sprang to mind. Maddison has been injured for a year and before that his performance levels wasn't consistent and Kulu ended up playing central.

Going forward most likely we're going to play 4-3-3 with Fernandes/Bentancur deepest.

Right now we're looking at Kudus on the right, someone on the left which leaves 2 midfield spots. Tonali starts and as I said before I expect it to be Tonali and Gallagher as the two 8's that do a bit of everything. Kulu is strong through the middle, and Grey is coming through.

I think there is a good chance he'll be sold within the next year.

Madds will be an awesome impact sub even if he's not starting. You have to plan for 16 players nowadays in every game.

Formation is over stated but I think Fernandes and Tonali will be in the pivot and we will rotate Gallagher & Maddison in the 10 (or Kroupi).

I don’t love Gallagher as a player but if he is in a team where he is the 9-10th most technical creative player he will be extremely effective. When he is the 3/4th it’s a problem.

Maddison not being under pressure to start and win us games helps him as well. He may well never get back to where he was. But if he does, it won’t be until the new year.

Madders will be very useful for breaking down teams utilizing a low-block against us.

Or he could play LW cutting inside with an overlapping FB.

Tonali's preferred position is a left sided 8. Him and Gallagher will be off putting on the press that we saw last season when the manager came in. I don't think there's any chance of Tonali playing deeper.

That's why I think there is little chance of Maddison being anything but a sub option. Midfield will be full of people who can go up and down.

Also why the noise is that Bergvall won't be sold. Him and Gray can now develop how they should do for their age. Coming on and playing cup games under no pressure.

I have a suspicion we sell Spence and Gray goes RB full time. The trend for attacking managers is to turn these young centre mids in to full backs. Trent, James, OReilly, Lewis Skelly.

From Grays perspective. The competition at CM for England is huge. At RB you’ve got 2 injury prone players ahead of him.
